donation of a trophy for the up
coming Lucan Legion Leprechaun
hockey tournament, one was
approved.
It will go to the most sport-
smanlike team and will be named
in honour of Wilfred Hodgins who
gave many years of service at the
Lucan arena.

subdivision.
The clerk has been instructed
to get the proper information on
issuing taxi licences for the
village. A request has been
received from Wade Insurance of
Clandeboye to operate a taxi
service in Lucan and area,
The resignation of Robert
Taylor from the arena board was
received. He is the chairman of
this year's Lucan Lions Trade
Fair and gave this as the reason
for resigning.
.°•• A borrowing ,bylaw , in _the
amount of .$.16,009 was given final
• reading.
Taxes in Lucan will again be
payable in two installments for
1974. The due dates are July 15
and November 15.

The senior choir, under the

Church Women met at the home
of Mrs. Lorne Barker, Kent
Street, Wednesday with Mrs.
Harvey Hodgins in the chair, in
the absence of the President Mrs.
Frank Hardy Sr.
Materials were distributed by
Mrs. Hodgins to make articles for
a bale.

At the morning service at the
Pentecostal Holiness Church,
Rick Thornton led in singing and
Rev. Ray Brewster spoke on the
theme 'Fear Not Little Flock'. He
said Christians should not fear
where their supply for daily
needs will come from, instead
they should trust God to supply
their needs if His command is
obeyed to "Seek first the
Kingdom of Heaven , ."
At the evening service Mr.
Brewster spoke on A New Heart
and a New Spirit, giving as
examples the changed lives of
Peter and Paul, how God com-
pletely changes a person's life
when he surrenders to God.
Robert Holland Jr., was the
soloist.
Church Reports
At the, United Church Sunday
morning, Rev. Ewart Madden
urged the members to be
missionaries within the com-
munity by visiting new people
and drawing them into the
fellowship of the Church. His
sermon topic was Pride Goeth
Before . . . based on the story of
Namaan, a proud man who had to
lose self, pride and resentment
before he could receive the gift of
good health from God.
The re-elected elders and
stewards and the two new
stewards were recognized during
the service and installed in a
brief ceremony.
Church membership classes
for adults will be conducted if
there is a need. Any adult in-
terested should contact Mr.
Madden. The first Prayer,
Sharing and Bible Study group
will be held at the manse, Sunday
evening at 8 p.m,

congregation are invited to the

The primary girls class and
their teacher, Mrs. James
Mugford, had a very happy
Valentine party during their
class period, working together to
decorate cookies which they later
ate as part of their refreshments.
Valentine cards were exchanged
and a Valentine story enjoyed.

and stuffed animals, the latter for

the kindergarten class with a set

evening, Mrs. Randy Paul, the
group leader, led in worship.
