hostess Tuesday evening for the
January ACW meeting. Mrs.
Joan Greenlee, president,
presided. Mrs. Carroll led in the
invocation taken from the Living
Message and Mrs. Savary read
the meditation.
Plans were made for the new
year's work and reports were
read.
The mystery prize, donated by
Carol Greenlee, was won by
Hazel Davis.
Carol Quinton invited the group
for the February meeting
A social half hour followed and
the hostess provided • refresh-
ments.
Cottage Service.
Cottage service was held
Sunday at the home of Mr. & Mrs.
Tom Kooy, Centralia.
Following the service the
annual Vestry meeting was
conducted. Rev. Savary presided
and Mrs. Harry Carroll, vestry
clerk, read the minutes of last
years' meeting.
All of the reports were read and
last years officers returned with
the exception of minister's
warden, Gote Wennerstrom will
serve in this capacity for 1974.
The reports indicated it was the
best year ever for St. Patrick's
Church. Following closing
prayers -Mrs. Kooy served
refreshments.

A large group of young people
took part in the youth service in
the United Church Sunday
morning. The service which drew
favourable comments gave the
young people an opportunity to
express their ideas in both song
and speech and in the presen-
tation of skits.
Annual meeting
The annual congregational
meeting of Centralia United
Church was held in the school
room of the church following the
morning service and was
preceded by a pot luck lunch.
There were about 30 in at-
tendance.
Mrs. W.R. Essery was ap-
pointed secretary and Rev.
Beaton presided.
The church reports, Sunday
School report and reports of the
various church organizations
showed a successful year.
The renovation of the choir loft,
the new storage cupboard for
Sunday School supplies and 'the
completion of the lights in the
schoolroom were among the
church improvements.
Several items of business came
under discussion. Mr. Stephen
Molnar was made an honorary
member of the session and added
to the remaining list of session
members are W.R. Essery, Mrs.
Robert Blair and Mrs. Chas
Rollings.
Appointed to the board of
stewards were Harvey Rollings,
Tom Somerville, and Mrs. Ray
Shoebottom as recording
steward,
Mrs. Alvin Lobb was appointed
as alternate presbytery
representative. The board of
trustees will remain the same,
Two Sunday school teachers
offered to approach Kenneth
Hodgins and ask him to recon-
sider his resignation as senior
Sunday School superintendent.
Mary Shoebottom and Marikay
Hodgins will be the organists,
replacing Mrs. Hodgins who
resigned. Mrs. Russell Wilson
will be the choir leader.
Rev. Beaton was extended an
invitation to remain for another
year and was thanked for his
efforts on our behalf for the past
year.

The CGIT meeting was
opened with the hymn and pur-•
pose, Mary Lou and Nancy
Tindall led in the worship ser-
vice.
Darlene Knee resigned from
secretary duties and Mary Lou
Tindall was elected to take her
place.
The girls worked on articles for
the bazaar, Penny Smith and
Linda Wilson led in games.
Mrs. Russell Schroeder
returned home Sunday after
visiting for a few days with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Webb in London.
