Roll call was answered by, 'A The January meeting of the Elimville Women's Institute was held at the hall Wednesday with a Canadian product and a com- mercial to sell it' which proved very humorous. The new 4-H leaders were appointed for the spring project, Take a look at Yourself. Miss Ruth Skinner presented the Institute with a book in memory of her mother, the late Mrs. Everett Skinner. A committee appointed to investigate the saving of glass bottles and papers, is composed of Mrs. Murray Coward, Mrs. Howard Pym and Mrs. Elson Lynn. Mrs. Emerson Penhale and Mrs. Dan Coward were con- veners of the program, Agriculture and Canadian Industries. Winners were: lucky serviette, Eber Shute; lone hands, Mrs. Harold Bell; ladies high, Mrs. Ross Skinner; men's high, Lawrence Beckett. Another euchre will be held at the hall January 28. Achievement Day Achievement Day was held at Exeter High School Saturday with Elimville clubs I, II and III attending. County Honours were received by Nancy Hern and Provincial Honours were presented to Karen Brock and Linda Herm Persona Is Mr. & Mrs. Howard Pym and family visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Docking of Staffa. Kingma, his sister Mrs. H. Jellesna and brother A. Kingma, also many other relatives and friends and neighbours. Mrs. Ed Turnbull returned Sunday from St. Joseph's hospital where she had been a patient. Nine tables of euchre were in play Wednesday evening at Shipka community centre, Winners were ladies high - Mrs. Mary Moser; ladies low, Mrs. Ward Neeb, Zurich; mens high, Ward Neeb, Zurich; mens low, Lorne Devine; most lone hands, Mrs. Ross Love. Tickets were sold on a dressed chicken and won by Jim Pickering. The east group were in charge of refreshments, Mr. & Mrs. Ervin Latta, Gary, Diane and Loriane, Waterloo spent Saturday with Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Devine and enjoyed ski- dooing in the country. Pred Weiburg returned to Waterloo with the Latta's for some winter holidays.
