Snowmobiler hurt;

Friends of Frank DuBarry will
be sorry to hear he had a
snowmobile accident and is now
being treated at St. Josephs
Hospital, Room No. 488. At last
report he was getting along well.
Clubs
Upon visiting the Cubs last
week I was brought up to date on
plans for the next few months.
Along with earning badges the
leaders are arranging several
tours for them to such places as
the Grand Bend Water works, the
veterinary lab at Centralia
College, Kelloggs, Northern
Electric, C,F.P.L. T.V. and
Radio stations, London Free
Press and the Huron Park fire
hall.
Carol Mills has been appointed
to the post of Bagherra.
New boat
Hughes Boats have begun to
produce a new boat called the NS
600. It's a sharp looking 26 foot
cruiser. One of the boys over
there told me that no other
company will be able to match it,
I happened to see Chief
Robichaud working out at the
gym Tuesday. It would only be
fair to assume that either he has
been wa tching too much TV or his
`boss' told him he's getting to fat.

trying to set up a used sports
equipment outlet,

Hockey
The Huron Park Plugs had a
struggle against the CFB London
hockey team Sunday afternoon.
The army guys, with the aid of
a pack goalie, squeezed by the
plugs 3 to 2 in a hard fought but
clean game,
Randy Mason and Jim Rolph
tallied for the Plugs while
Villeneuve, Faucett and Cole
were lucky to bent Gerry Cooper
in the net at the opposite net.

Christian Beliefs By MRS. IRVIN RADER
DASHWOOD
The January meeting of Dash-
wood WI was held Jan, 8th with
the Education and Cultural
Activities group in charge and
Mrs. LeRoy Gowanlock, con-
vener, in charge. Roll call was

child? Mrs. Gowanlock gave a
reading entitled "Children learn
'what they live."
Guest speaker was Christopher
Martin, Director of Child Care,
Salvation Army Children's
Village, London. His address was
very helpful to those present,
explaining the many aspects of
caring for and treating
emotionally disturbed children.
Mrs. Gowanlock read a New
Years' wish and a display of
children's Crafts was presented
for viewing. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Martha Weigand ; Mrs.
Greta Schade and Mrs. Janis
Martin.
Mrs. Gordon Bender president,
dealt with the business, Four
euchres will be held, the first two
on January 22 and January 29. A
delegate is to attend the Officers'
Conference in May.
Brownie Pack '
Wednesday, Brown Owl, Mrs.
LeRoy Gowanlock reopened
Brownies following a two week
Christmas vacation. Prior to
Christmas the girls and their
leaders, Mrs, Gowanlock and
Tawny Owl, Mrs. Jack Gaiser,
held a party with an exchange of
gifts, games, and lunch.
All girls in the Dashwood area
seven years and over, not
presently part of the Brownie
program are invited to come to
the Dashwood community centre
any Wednesday at 4.30 and
participate in Brownie activities.
At present their are 21 Brownies
and seven Guides.
Ladies Aid
The January meeting of Zion
Lutheran Ladies Aid was held
Wednesday, with group 2 and
Mrs. Arnold Becker, convener in
charge of Devotions and lunch.
Pastor Morgret was in charge
of the program. He passed out

the Problem? The ladies were
divided into groups and their

Fundamentals of Christian
Beliefs will be taught at Peace
Lutheran phurch, Exeter,
beginning Thursday, January 24,
7.30 p.m, This course surveys the
basic doctrines of the Christian
faith and their Biblical basis a$
taught, believed, and confessed
in the Lutheran church.
Zion offers a course in New
Testament history beginning
Monday, January 21, 7.30 p.m.
Rev. Frank Morgret will be the
instructor, The course will in-
clude the history of the New
Testament times, background of
the books of the New Testament,
and major teachings of the NeW
Testament.
Three adults from Peace
Lutheran church, Exeter,
received certificates of
achievement from Rev. Morgret
during the morning service

New Year at the Village Inn with

Mrs. Bill Sturdevant showed
slides of their Caribbean cruise
taken last fall from Florida with
stops at Nassua, Puerto Rico,
Virgin Islands, Martinique,
Trinidad, Venezuela, Aruba,
Columbia, Panama, Jamaica.
Business consisted of plans to
sponsor a bus trip to the Ice
Capades. Mrs. Ross Love and
Mrs, Marian Grieve, Dashwood
were lunch hostesses.

The Ratepayers meeting of
Dashwood will be held Tuesday,
Jan. 29 8,00 p,m. at the com-
munity centre.
Dashwood dogs must be tied at
all times. Any dog running at
large will be picked up by the dog
catcher.
