The third meeting of the Dash-
wood 4-H homemaking club no. 2
was held Monday at the com-
munity centre. Cheese of every
variety, texture, and flavor was
discussed, as well as the
traditions and food of England,
Scotland and Ireland.
The girls then made "Welsh
Rabbit" and apple dumplings.

a few days last week at Little
Current, Manitoulin Island with
Mr. & Mrs, Eric Eagleson and
Marshall.
Dashwood W.I, were among the
guests attending the meeting at
the adult workshop for the
mentally retarded September 26.
They were very much impressed
by the reports arid the tour of the
building.
Mrs. Jean Anne Guenther has
sold her home to Ken Genttner,
Lucan. She has moved with her
family to London, while Mr. &
Mrs. Genttner and son have
moved to Dashwood. Prior to

The first mishap of the week
occurred Thursday at the in-
tersection of highways 4 and 7 at
Elginfield, Involved were

and Edward A. Brown, 100
McNabb Street, Elora.
The investigating officer was
Constable W. R, Disher and he
estimated damages at $925.
Early Saturday afternoon,
vehicles operated by Kassim

Shipway, 114 Alice Street, Lucan
collided on Lucan's Main Street.
The officer in charge was

damages were listed at $190.
At 5 p.m. Saturday a vehicle

The mishap occurred on the

tour to Sudbury, Elliot Lake,
Sault Ste Marie, the Agawa
Canyon, Mackinac Island and
Frankenmuth, Michigan
recently.
The 1,250 foot smokestack with
its emission plume dominates the
Sudbury skyline. The citizens are
justly proud of their growing
university. Elliot Lake has
throughout its scattered town

of an accident on the Ilderton
road at Concession 14 in London

foot high, 1550 foot long, trestle.
Mackinac Island with its
history of Indian worship, British
and American occupation, its
picturesque mansions and hotels,
its quaint shops and horse-drawn
wagons is well worth a visit.
At Frankenmuth long lines of
people waited in last Wed-
nesday's summer heat to be
admitted to one of Zehnder's nine
dining rooms (total seating
capacity is 1000) for a chicken
dinner.
At both border crossings
customs officials made genial
approach toward the 45 tourists
on the bus, with a hearty "Have a
good trip."
