ELIMVILLE
The September meeting of the
Elimville Women's Institute was
held Wednesday at the hall with
Mrs. Philip Johns in charge.
Roll Call was answered by
"How parents can co-operate
with school teachers."
The program, "education and
cultural activities" was convened
by Mrs. Freeman Horne and
Ruth Skinner. A singsong began
the program. An interesting
panel discussion on "which is
more influential in bringing up a
child, home, school or church and
why?" was presented by Mrs.
Tom Hern supporting the home;
Mrs, Calder McKaig, former
school teacher at Winchelsea who
gave her thoughts about school;
and Rev. Barry Robinson who
explained the church's respon-
sibilities. Several questions were
thoughtfully discussed af-
terwards. Conclusions were that
it is the family's responsibility as
a whole to bring up their children
the right way at home and by
attending school and church.
Mrs. Eric Clayburn sang a solo
and read a selection. Ruth
Skinner also gave a reading.
The fall rally will be at Cen-
tralia College, Oct. 1 with
Elimville to supply a musical
number in the morning session.
An invitation was accepted to
go to Dashwood W.I. at the
community center October 2. The
Rodeo booth receipts were also
discussed.
