TO RESIDE IN TILLSONBURG - Nancy Louisa Kyle, daughter of Mr
and Mrs. David Kyle of Hensall, was united in marriage to James Max
Wolfe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blake Wolfe of Stratfordville. The quiet
ceremony, performed by Rev, Donald Beck, took place in Hensall
United Church on August 18. Following a honeymoon in Antigua, the
young couple will reside in Tillsonburg.

Girl returns from

Frederick Charles Beer passed
away at his residence on Sunday,
August 19, 1973 in his 76th year,
He was the husband of the
former Kilda Blogg and the
father of George, Hensall; John,
C.F.B. Borden and Mrs. (Elaine)
Ralph McArthur of Edmonton.
Also surviving are eight grand-
children.
Funeral services were held at
the Bonthron Funeral Chapel in
Hensall on Tuesday, August 21
with the Rev. Don Beck of-
ficiating. Interment was in the
1 lensall Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ron Mock,
Jim Taylor, Dave Sangster,
Wilmer Dalrymple, Jack Sim-
mons and Al Scholl.

Mensal] Reeve John Baker,
seriously injured on Friday, July
13, was released from. St.
Joseph's Hospital in London,
Thursday,
Baker was run over by an
errant eight.ton self propelled
combine at Hyde Bros., where he
is employed.
The Hensall reeve suffered a
fractured pelvis, ruptured
bladder and broken bones in his
face.
He is presently spending some
time at the lake with his family
and expects to be off work for
another three months due to the
injuries sustained in the freak
accident,
Dinner honors
anniversary
Mr, & Mrs. Sim Roobal
celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary recently by having a
dinner in the Fellowship Hail of
Hensall United Church.
Thirty-six relatives and friends
were present from Woodstock,
Ridgetown, Goderich, Seaforth,
Brucefield, Exeter and Hensall.
The happy couple received many
beautiful gifts.
Very special guest for the event
was Mr. Roobal's brother, Mr,
Cornelieus Roobal of Holland.
Several congratulatory telephone
calls were received from Holland
during the day.

Janice Bonthron, Bayfield
recently returned home from an
enjoyable holiday in Britain and
Norway with friends. She was a
guest at the home of Kirsti
Hellerud, Oslo. She toured north
to Tromso the land of the mid-
night sun and then back along the
west coast to Motte for the
International Jazz Festival and
then to Oslo, Janice spent a week
in Britain before returning home,
Shelley Bonthron received her
diploma as an infant care worker
from the Canadian Mothercraft
Society in Toronto at graduation
exercises held on ,July 28. Shelley
has accepted a position with the
University for the coming year.
Joanne Bell visited last week
with her grandparents, Mr. &
Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne, Thames
Road,
Mr, & Mrs. Joe Flynn returned
home following a vacation at
Spry Lake.
Charles Mickle, Hamilton, has
been holidaying during the past
week with his mother, Mrs, Laird
Mickle after returning from a
pleasant three weeks' vacation
spent in the Caribbean.
Mr. & Mrs. James Sangster
and Bradley returned home from
a holiday at Silver Lake.
Mrs. Jack Corbett was a recent
visitor with her sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Leslie
Adams, Dashwood.
Mrs. Don MacLaren, Jodi and
Brooke, Oakville are holidaying
this week with Mrs. MacLaren's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lorne
Chapman.
Norway
One day last week, Cornelieus
Roobal of Holland was en-
tertained by Mr, & Mrs, Don
Dodds and family of Seaforth.
They visited Storybook Gardens
in London and points of interest in
London and district, On Thursday
they visited with Mr. & Mrs. John
Konynendyke in Woodstock.
Sim Itoobal and Cornelieus
Roobal visited with Tony
Gelderland in Ridgetown over the
weekend and while there visited
Uncle Toms Cabin and the Oil
Museum at Petrolia and
surrounding area.
James Cochrane of Toronto
visited on Monday with his sister
Mrs. Hugh MeMurtrie.
Mrs. Sim Roobal is a patient in
St. Josephs Hospital in London,
Mr. & Mrs. Don Dodds and
family, and Cornelieus Roobal,
and Sim Roobal motored to
Niagara Falls for a sight seeing
tour Tuesday and Wednesday of
this week,
United Church Service
A good crowd attended Hensall
United Church for the morning
service on Sunday. Rev. Don
Beck preached on the sermon
topic "Why".
The musical contribution to the
service was provided by John,
Beatrice, Mary and Bruce,
family of Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Thompson. John accompanied on
the guitar while Mary, Beatrice
and Bruce sang.
The flowers in the church were
placed there from the Wolfe-Kyle
wedding.
Village native
passes away
Mrs. Emma J. Shepherd,
Hensall, wife of the late John
Shepherd passed away August 19
at the Blue Water Rest Home,
Zurich in her 91st year.
She was the former Emma J.
Dickson, a daughter of the late
Mr, & Mrs. Thomas Dickson,
Hensall.
Surviving are two stepsons,
Clarence and Harold Shepherd,
Toronto, and two nieces Mrs. Bill
(Mona) Finch and Mrs. Morley
(Helen) Sanders, Grand Bend,
A private funeral service was
held August 21 from the Bonthron
Funeral Chapel, Hensall with
Reverend Donald Beck, of-
ficiating.
Interment was in MeTaggart's
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred San-
ders, Ted Sanders, Bill Finch,
Jeff Finch, Bill Gibbs and Jack
Consitt,
Resource Rangers are a youth
group (of the Ontario Forestry
Association.
