Rev. R.J. Crossley conducted the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white organza gown flowing from an empire waist to a cathedral train. The bodice panel and full sleeves were trimmed with embroidered lace and the floral headdress held a four-tier shoulder length illusion veil trimmed with lace. The bride carried white mums and baby's breath. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Thomas Toner as matron of honor and bridesmaids Karen Gackstetter, sister of the bride, Mrs. Gordon MacDonald, sister of the groom, Marina SchauS. and Patricia Nelson. They were dressed alike in floorlength crepe gowns of rainbow colors of blue, yellow, pink, green and lilac respec- tively, They carried nosegays of white mums and co-ordinating colors of baby's breath to match each dress. Ralph Harrison was best man and guests were ushered by Myron and Dean Gaekstetter, brothers of the bride and Andy and James Anderson, cousins of the groom. Father Joseph McGraw con- ducted the ceremony with music provided by Mary Beth Kearney and soloist Margaret Warren. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal length• gown of lagoda with empire waist, scoop neckline and long lily-point sleeves. Venice lace enhanced the bodice and the A-line silhouette which formed a redingote effect. A matching Juliet cap of lace and ribbons and a silk illusion veil completed the outfit. The bridal bouquet was a cascade of yellow roses. Mrs. Mary Jane MacDougall attended the bride as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Norma MacGregor and Sandra Watson. They wore long dresses of powder blue crimplene with empire waist, short puffed sleeves, and white printed collar trimmed with crocheted lace. They also wore white wide- brimmed straw hats and carried white parasols covered with blue carnations and yellow daisies. Barry Barnes was the best man and ushers were Clyde MacGregor and Tom Dewan. Following a reception at Lucan Community Centre, the couple left for a wedding trip to Nor- thern Ontario. For travelling the bride changed to, a white dress trim- med with brown dots and a brown jacket trimmed with white dots and brown accessories. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Dewan, RR 3, Lucan and the groom is the son Bruce and Susan Cann (nee van der Lei) married June 19, 1948, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on July 28 in Leeuwarden, Holland, with their children. A reception was held by their family in the "Onder de Luifel" restaurant. Relatives and friends, including former neigh- bors helped mark the occasion,. They received many gifts in- cluding a silver tea service from their six children, Susan (Mrs, Robert Gray), Ottawa; Sylvia, Scarborough, Kathy, Peter- borough; and Chris, Stephen and Annette, Exeter. Mrs. Cann's brothers and sisters presented the couple with an original Fries clock, traditionally made within her Park-Stewart family meet in Germany on exchange, showed pictures of-various countries they had visited.
