STAFFA
4-H members, leaders and
mothers were guests of the Staffa
Womens Institute at their
meeting held in the township hall
on Wednesday evening June 27.
There were 19 members and 35
visitors present,
Mrs. Ed Chappel presided and
opened the meeting with the
Institute Ode and Mary Stewart
Collect, Mrs. Charles Douglas
presented a motto on the 4-H
pledge and gave the 10 com-
mandments on charm. Roll Call
was answered by naming a song
with "Home" or "Country" in it.
Mrs. Carter Kerslake gave a
demonstration on "block prin-
ting" which proved most in-
teresting for the 4-H girls and
their leaders as that is the course
the girls will be taking inthefall.
Staffa No. 3 4-H girls modeled
their outfits made in "Sewing
with knits" with Marilyn Miller
introducing the girls. Staffa No. 1
girls modeled their outfits for
"Springtime in the park" with
Joanne Ross introducing the
girls, Lorraine Laing introduced
Staffa No. 2 as they modeled and
also commented on the exhibit
"Knacks with necklines" Which
they had set up.
The president, Mrs. John
Miller presided for the business.
Mrs. Carter Kerslake, Mrs.
Frank Hamilton and Mrs. Ger-
trude Taylor are a committee to
plan a bus trip for July, A 70th
anniversary party is planned for
August.

soloist was Mrs, Gary Brenner.
Next Sunday will be a mixed
choir and Rev, Dobson to give the
sermon.
