In the setting of an Enchanted
Forest, District Commissioner,
Mrs. L. Nash, St, Marys,
presented the certificate of
Registration for the first Brownie
Pack of Dashwood to Brown Owl,
Mrs. Leroy Gowanlock, Tawny
Owl, Betty Guenther was also on
hand to assist.
A total of 21 girls received their
pins from Mrs. Nash. Six girls,.
Betty Guenther, Cindy Beaver,
Cindy Webb,Kim Gaiser,Sue Ann,
Becker, and Bonnie Nauss were
also enrolled as Guides. Mothers
and friends were guests,
Trousseau Tea
Mrs, Bruce Guy held a
trousseau tea Saturday in honor
of her daughter, Judy's for-
thcoming marriage to Paul
Morrison, Varna, Receiving
guests were Judy, her mother
and Paul's mother, Mrs. Mur-
dock Morrison.,
Mrs. Carol Burt, cousin of the
bride to be, Windsor, showed
Judy's personal trousseau as well
as heirloom pieces which the
bride inherits. Mrs, Nancy Guy,
Denfield, sister-in-law showed
the shower gifts, Celests Holmes,
London showed wedding gifts.
The wedding cake was on
display. Pouring tea were Della
Tomlinson and Nola Love in the
afternoon and Alice Tiernan and
Letta Taylor in the evening,

The June meeting of Dashwood
W.I. was held Tuesday, with the
citizenship and world affairs
group in charge and Mrs. Mervyn
Tiernan, convener, All sat down
to a delicious picnic supper.
Following this, president Mrs,
Gordon Bender conducted a brief
business meeting. The new
programs were distributed and
the ladies were very pleased with
them. As this was the last
meeting for the summer, the
Exeter Fgir list was discussed
and several members volun-
teered to be responsible for the
projects.
Bus trips and projects were
discussed but nothing definite
decided on,
Mrs, Tieman's group con-
ducted several relays and other
sports. Prizes were awarded to
the winners,

Alberta, were in town due to the
death of an aunt, Mrs. Bertha

Convention in London during the
weekend at the Ivanhoe where
two of their members received
awards. Twenty attended from
Exeter club, The total attendance
from Ontario was 2500,
Funeral service for Mrs.
Bertha Hayter was held in Zion
Lutheran church June 6.
Pallbearers were six grandsons:
Jim, John, Rick, Tom, and Jeff
Hayter, and Douglas Vandahl.

church by the rite of con-

the U,C.W. was held in Zion
United Church, Mrs. Earl Neil
was in charge of the program and
was assisted by Mrs. Gordon
Finkbeiner, Mrs. Russell Fink-
beiner and Mrs. Claire Schwartz.
The theme "Father's Day" was
developed by readings and songs.
Doris Schwartz and Mrs. Gordon
Finkbeiner sang with Mrs.
Russell Finkbeiner ac-
companying them.
Mrs. Cliff Russell, vice-
president, conducted the
business, Roll call was answered
by quoting a verse on
forgiveness. A donation was
made to Five Oaks and to
Compassion for the care of an
Indonesian orphan.
Mrs. Nelson Lamport reported
a retreat held at Westminster
College. Mrs. Earl Neil explained
steps being taken toward the
purchase of trays.
