Goderich.
The home club scored a run in
the bottom of the ninth inning to
gain the victory after tying the
score in the top of the same frame

score as Doug Fairbairn and
Perry Stover singled.

the opening inning and scored
five times in the second to
complete their scoring until the
ninth.
Perry Stover walked and
scored without the aid of a hit in
the Exeter fourth and Randy
Tiernan clubbed a bases empty
home run to lead off the sixth.

ninth came as Joe Darling
singled and completed the bases
as Randy Tiernan duplicated his
sixth inning feat with another
home run.
Perry Stover went the distance
on the Exeter mound. He gave up
only seven hits over the full nine
inning route but ran into a wild
streak in the ninth when Goderich
scored the winning run.

by Keith Davey loaded the bases
and set the stage for Schroeder's

inning. Rodger Finkbeiner
slugged a double and Ron
Bowers, Mike Desjardine and
Bruce Hodge contributed singles.

stock mare, S,S. Blue Eagle,
A third award went to the
Preszcator family when Smokies
Girl owned by Steve Preszcator

mare award.
Nancy Swartz of Clandeboye
with Vandy's King won the grand
championship in the pleasure
stallion division, Nelson Bilyea,
RR 2, Granton won the grand

Appaloosa and Pinto shows are
competing in similar events
across Ontario during the
summer months for High Point
Ontario and Register of Merit
points.
The eighth annual Mid4VeStern
Quarter horse show held at
Exeter Community Saturday was
the most successful of any of the
shows to date.
A grand total of 394 entries
were received in the various
classes making the Exeter show
close to being the largest outdoor
event in the province of Ontario.
Arena director Don Nye of
Hamilton thought the previous
highest number of entries for a
similar show held outdoors was
either 388 or 396,
Show secretary Noel Veri and
her assistants were kept busy
throughout the day recording
entries and results in the various
classes.
In the morning halter events,
122 horses were entered. In the
afternoon, adult entries totalled
144 and participants in the youth
activity classes reached 128.
