sleeves, hems
The Hensall 4-H "Sew-sews"
held their fifth meeting at the
home of Mrs. Bill Fuss on
Monday evening, with all
members present except one. For
the roll call the girls told how
they would incorporate stretchy
seams into their garments.
Set in sleeves and tailors hems
were demonstrated. Everyone
showed and reported on the
progress they are making on
their garments.
RESIDE IN LONDON - Father A. Durand officiated for the double-ring
ceremony uniting Carolyn Dorothy Thiel and David Michael Stark in
marriage, February 9, 1973. The groom is the eldest son of Mrs.
Theresa Stark and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Thiel,
all of Zurich. Jo-Ann Thiel was maid of honor and Stephen Stark was
best man. The young couple reside in London,

Members of all South Huron
Branches of the Women's
Institute were invited to attend
Elimville WI's 25 anniversary in
the form of a dessert euchre held
at Usborne Central School,
There were 30 tables of euchre
played, Winners were; high for
pink cards, Mrs. Letta Taylor;
high for white cards, Mrs. R.
Finkbeiner; lone hands, Mrs.
Rosalene Schenk; low score,
Mrs. Fern Love; and special
prize to Mrs. Anna Dilling,
4-H
The Elimville 441 Club No, 1
held their fifth and sixth meeting
combined on Thursday afternoon
at the home of Mrs. Lorne Johns,
Sleeves, zippers, buttonholes and
waistbands were discussed. The
garments are coming along
nicely. Members were invited to
the April meeting of Elimville
Women's Institute to present
their skit from the previous club.
The seventh meeting was held on
March 26 at Mrs. Ross Skinner's,
Hems were demonstrated and the
girls each did a sample. Plans
were discussed about
Achievement Day.

last week from St. Joseph's
Hospital and is spending a few
weeks with Mr. & Mrs. Ross

proceeds of the booth at the
auction sale at RossRichardson's,
Arrangements were made for the
District meeting to be held in
Edelweiss Rebekah Lodge
Seaforth, April 18.
Mrs. Margaret Sharpe District
Deputy President of Seaforth will
visit Amber Rebkah Lodge April
18. A representative and scholar
will be appointed to attend Grand
Lodge sessions in Toronto in
June.
Arrangements were made to
hold a dessert euchre at Amber
Lodge April 4 and to have a booth
at MacBeath's sale April 21.
Members are invited to a dessert
euchre at Goderich in April.

Ellen Copeland. Mrs, Ted Brine Mr. & Mrs. Jim Mitchell, Diane

attended the Queens University
Choral Ensemble presented by
the Queens University Music
Department.

Strahan wedding in the United
Church, St. Marys Saturday

after 55 years
Mrs. J.R. MeCloy, Don Mills,
and daughter Carrie, and her
friend Jennifer Scott visited for a
few days this past week with Mrs.
Alma Hess.

Seaforth visited Sunday with
Mrs. Audrey Christie.
Visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Fred
Brock last week were Mr. & Mrs.
James Barr from Frostproof,
Florida; Tom Barr and Mr. &
Mrs, George Cuthbertson from
Motherwell, Scotland. It was a
very happy reunion for Mrs.
Brock as she had not seen her
brother Torn and her neice Mrs.
Cuthbertson since she came to
Canada from Motherwell 55
years ago.

The regular meeting of the
A.C,W. of St. Paul's Church was
held at the home of Mrs. F. Clark
with the President Mrs. G.A.
Anderson presiding. The meeting
opened with devotions. Mrs. D.
Windover read scripture from
Good News for modern man.
An invitation from the ladies
from Carmel Presbyterian
church was accepted for April 2.
It was decided to pack a bale in
May. Mrs. Windover and Mrs.
R.H. Middleton were appointed
delegates to attend the A.C.W.
Annual meeting in London April
26.
The roll call was answered with
a household hint. A skit "Women
at Supper", was presented with
the narrator Mrs. Anderson and
all members present taking part.

Brownie pack
tours bush
The girls and their leaders of
the First Hensall Brownie Pack
ended the winter break holidays
on Saturday morning by going to
visit a sugar bush on the farm of
Ross Kercher, RR 2, Kippen. The
weather conditions were ideal
except for mud.
Mr. Kercher explained
thoroughly to the Brownies the
whole process of making maple
syrup by using plastic piping.
Everyone enjoyed a taste of
maple sap. On returning back to
the Church, the Brownies enjoyed
a lunch of pancakes and syrup
and chocolate milk.

The regular meeting of the
Messengers was held on Sunday.
The meeting opened with quiet
music by Cynthia Copeland. The
theme was "Loving God and Our
Neighbours." The call to worship
was read and the Messengers
motto repeated. A hymn was
sung accompanied by Cynthia
Copeland. The Bible story of
"The Good Smaritan" was read
by Calvin Rodd, followed by a
poem, "Helping Hands" by
Cheryl Brine.
Another hymn was sung ac-
companied by Terri Brintnell.
Mrs. David Wheeler told a story,
and Paul Robinson read a poem

at Brinsley Community centre. It
was well attended with 10 tables
