What features are best for my rooms?
How will I know I'm getting the best carpet value?

CARP T AND

COME, LOOK AT OUR SPECIAL BIGELOW CARPET SELECTIONS
...SEE FOR YOURSELF HOW TO TELL CARPET VALUES!
Important points to
checkmbefore you decide
on carpet:
Check the usage: If you are putting
carpet in an area that gets heavy wear...
on the stairs, in front of a doorway, in a
main traffic area, choose a tough, rugged
carpet for long service. Tightly twisted
carpets work best in these areas, as do
some of the man-made fibers such as ny-
lon and polyester. For rooms that get less
wear, such as bedrooms and lrvingrooms
you can concentrate on other qualities
than rugged durability. There's a carpet
for every purpose...make sure you get the
right one.
Check the fibre: There are lots of fine
carpet fibers...all of them have been prov-
en by time-testing and long wear. Fore-
most among them is still wool...then there
is nylon, acrylics, polyesters, olefins.
Come in, we will be happy to explain the
differences to you.
Check the color: Color is important
in choosing your carpet...because you
are going to have to live with it for a long,
long time. Be sure that the color is right.
Look at the sample under store lights,
under incandescent lights (they make a
difference when compared with floures-
cent light) and if possible in the daylight.
Make sure the color is right for you and
that you—and your husband—will be hap-
py with it.
Check the style: Today carpet comes
in a wide variety of styles to fit everyone's
taste and needs. You'll find them,a,11,dis
played here...and you can choose the
style that suits you best. If you long for
shags, or plusher, or sculptured or level
loop...we have them all. Come in and see
how varied carpet styles are,
Check the price: Carpet prices vary,
of course. And, as with anything else, you
get what you pay for. We make every ef-
fort to give you the very best value for
your dollar...we buy carefully and when
we make an unusual buy, we pass the
savings on to you. Come in, you'll find real
value—whatever the price. And, rest-
assured, we'll help you find the right car-
pet to fit your purse and your person.

Hans DeJong flew from London
to Toronto, then to Vancouver,
shipping his motor-bike by rail.
In Vancouver he was joined by
Nelson and Dave Desjardine to
cycle to Washington state. To
cross the mountains they rented a
truck for their bikes and camping
gear,
Next they explored California
covering 1400 miles in two and
one-half weeks but missed the
earthquake. People were
friendly, They went on to Yuma,
Arizona, Since they could get no
fire and theft insurance on their
bikes they left them at a trailer
camp and took a bus into Mexico
at Mazatlan on the Pacific coast
off the tip of California.
They saw large areas of cactus,
The Mexicans were polite and
friendly but tap water was bad so
good drinking water was sup-
plied,
Nelson and Dave are still
travelling in Mexico while Hans
returned by Mexicana then CP
Air to Toronto. Hans enjoyed the
learning experience of seeing
how other people live - noting
Mexicans have lower and upper
classes no middle one,

Church Of God
The congregation of the Church
of God welcomed their Pastor
and Mrs. Wattam back after a
month vacation in Florida. Over
60 members sat down to a St.
Patrick's share-a-dish supper.
Many wore an emblem along
with their Pastor to com-
memorate March 17.
During the supper hour Alex
Desjardine led in choruses. Mrs.
Rubie Turnbull read a poem for
St. Patrick's day, combined with
one composed of their Pastor's
vacation in Florida.
After the supper hour, Kenneth
MacGregor presented Mr. and
Mrs. Wattam with a substantial
cheque to be used in purchasing a
new car, The donations came
from the congregation and
friends.
John Steckle presented them
with a miniature 'Maxwell
Roadster'. Both Pastor and Mrs.
Wattam thanked all who had a
part in this gift which was a
complete surprise.
A hymn was sung, after which
George Winegarden led in
prayer.
Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth
MacGregor entertained all by
showing pictures on a recent trip
to Norway, Sweden, Denmark,
Iceland and Lapland. The pic-
tures were enjoyed by all,
especially seeing the reindeer
being so quiet with tourists and
how people live in different
countries.
Rev. and Mrs. Wattam have
been with the Congregation for 22
years, with the exception of three
years spent in Western Canada in
evangelistic work.
