meeting with a poem and a hymn
was sung followed by prayer by
Mrs. Jack Trevithick. Mrs.
Fenton gave a reading and

Harvey Steeper. Mrs. Trevithick
gave a reading "Lent comes
again" followed by singing of a
hymn.
Mrs. George Lee took over for
the business and read a poem.
Roll call was answered by
naming a fact about "India".
Mrs, Jack Rosser showed some
interesting slides on India and a
discussion followed.

was answered by naming a
number of stitches required for
each girls' garment,
Four techniques for sewing
with knits were explained; turn-
up cuff for pants was taught; and
tailor's hem reviewed. Mrs.
Kelders showed juniors how to
put in a sleeve and zipper.

Boy injured
at hockey

Brian Bullock, son of Mr, &
Mrs, Stuart Bullock, injured his
leg playing hockey Saturday and
is a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital London.
The Willing Workers of the
United Church held their monthly
meeting Friday evening at the
home of Mr. & Mrs. Ron Turner.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs,
Wayne Mellin on the birth of their
third son last Wednesday.
Evelyn and Manuel Curts were
among the 1100 who attended the
All-Canadian gospel sing in North
Lambton Secondary School,
Forest on Saturday evening.

returned after a month's holiday
in Florida,

by-election, I suspect none of the
candidates has listened when
doctors have said we shouldn't
become over-taxed.

GRAND BEND
The Senior Citizens have
chosen to be called "The Golden
Age Club" and met last week.
These monthly meetings have
been enjoyed so much that it was
decided to have two meetings per
month, on the first and third
Wednesdays, and they will
welcome new members.
Mrs, Kennedy filled in as
pianist in the absence of Dorothy
Reeves. Mrs. Devine and Mrs.
Love, program conveners, had a
reading entitled "I'll hang
around," followed by the Love
Brothers, who played several
selections of old time songs. Colin
played the dulcimer, an old
musical instrument which has
been handed down through the
generations and Bill played a
violin, which he made from wood
on his farm.
Mrs, Ravelle recited a poem
entitled "The clock of life." The
program came to a close with Mr.
Gill reading the definition of a
farmer, entitled "The farmer's
life." Various games were
played.
Bingo
Bingo was played at the
Alhambra Hall with a good
number participating. Regular
prize winners were Brenda
