In spite of all the storm and
snow that jolly old elf, Santa
Claus made his annual call at
Dashwood Saturday with gifts of
candy and chocolate milk for all
boys and girls. Movies were also
shown.

Hayter sang duets accompanied
by Miss Nadiger, Mrs. Bud
Desjardine sang two numbers
and Mrs. Leonard Schenk read a

Reverend. Frank Morgret, who
will be installed as pastor of Zion
Lutheran church, Dashwood, and
Peace Lutheran church, Exeter,
was born and raised in the United
States,
In 1956 he received an ap-
pointment to the United States
Coast Guard Academy from
which he graduated in 1960,
receiving a Bachelor of Science
degree and a commission in the
Coast Guard. In the same year he
married the former Nancy Davis,
a graduate of MacMurray
College, Jacksonville, Illinois.
In 1966, Rev. Morgret resigned
his commission to enter Con-
cordia Seminary, Springfield,
Illinois, During 1968 and 1969 he

Mrs. Margaret Finkbeiner, and

Mrs. Martha Russell of
Fenelon Falls will celebrate her
90th birthday on December 23.
She is a sister-in-law to Mrs.
Mabel Desjardine, and was a one
time resident in Hay township
residing on the old Manuel Wilds
farm on the 16th concession.
served as vicar at Holy Cross
Lutheran church, Kitchener.
He graduated from the
seminary in 1970, receiving the
Bachelor of Divinity degree. Rev.
Morgret accepted a call to serve
as pastor of Christ Lutheran
church, Langenburg, Saskat-
chewan. He was ordained and
installed there in June 1970. He
served there until receiving a call
to Dashwood and Exeter.
Recently Rev. Morgret com-
pleted a course in Supervised
Pastoral Education conducted at
the Brandon Mental Health
Centre, Brandon, Manitoba by
the Rev. Orton Anderson,
chaplain supervisor.
Four daughters, Ruth, Mary,
Christina, and Martha round out
the Morgret family.

The new Guild is Mrs. Ray Rader
and Mrs. Chas. Martene, assisted
by Mrs. Jim Hayter, Shut-in
boxes were packed Sunday af-
ternoon following the installation
of Pastor Morgret, and the pot
luck supper.
A number of cards of thanks
were read and donations ac-
cepted. A Christmas gift of
money was made to a member of
the congregation in Parkwood
hospital. The ladies decided to
donate $500 towards the expenses
at the parsonage.
