In spite of all the storm and snow that jolly old elf, Santa Claus made his annual call at Dashwood Saturday with gifts of candy and chocolate milk for all boys and girls. Movies were also shown. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Finkbeiner and Joan attended a pre Christmas dinner at the home, of their aunt Mrs, Leah Keyes in Exeter last Sunday. Also present were Harold's mother and sister, Mrs. Margaret Finkbeiner, and Mr, & Mrs. Tom Rosser, all of London. Mrs. Martha Russell of Fenelon Falls will celebrate her 90th birthday on December 23. She is a sister-in-law to Mrs. Mabel Desjardine, and was a one time resident in Hay township residing on the old Manuel Wilds farm on the 16th concession. served as vicar at Holy Cross Lutheran church, Kitchener. He graduated from the seminary in 1970, receiving the Bachelor of Divinity degree. Rev. Morgret accepted a call to serve as pastor of Christ Lutheran church, Langenburg, Saskat- chewan. He was ordained and installed there in June 1970. He served there until receiving a call to Dashwood and Exeter. Recently Rev. Morgret com- pleted a course in Supervised Pastoral Education conducted at the Brandon Mental Health Centre, Brandon, Manitoba by the Rev. Orton Anderson, chaplain supervisor. Four daughters, Ruth, Mary, Christina, and Martha round out the Morgret family. Martene, assisted by Mrs. Jim Hayter, Shut-in boxes were packed Sunday af- ternoon following the installation of Pastor Morgret, and the pot luck supper. A number of cards of thanks were read and donations ac- cepted. A Christmas gift of money was made to a member of the congregation in Parkwood hospital. The ladies decided to donate $500 towards the expenses at the parsonage. Mrs. Ernest Koehler presided for the election of a new treasurer, Mrs. Ray Rader.
