Caven Presbyterian Church
In 1861 a few pioneering families organized the
first Presbyterian congregation and met in a store at
the north end, then called Francistown. Seventeen
members attended the first communion.
The present church dates back to 1877, It was
badly damaged by a windstorm in April, 1893. A
Small group of dedicated men and women rebuilt the
church, which is still in use to-day, at a cost of
$2,000. There were only 35 families linked with
Caven at that time, To-day there are around 100
families connected to the church,.
To Celebrate the 111th anniversary, a special
morning service is being conducted.
The speaker for the event is Prank Whilsmith,
chairman of the Presbyterian Administrative Council.
Mrs. Marilyn Zivkovic is the Solo artist.
