Chisellairst LJCW held their
October meeting last Tuesday at
the Church. Mrs, Alvin. Cole
opened the Thanksgiving
meeting with a poem entitled
"Harvest Offering." Mrs, Russell
Brock gave the worship on
Thankfulness. The ladies were
reminded of the Regional
Meeting in Zurich October 24.
Visiting committee was ap-
pointed for October and
November,
Mrs, Tom 13rintnell gave the
Bible Study on the gory of
Zacchaeus.1Virs. Roy MacDonald • conducted a contest for the
program and the meeting closed
with prayer. Hostesses were Mrs,
Ed Dick and Mrs. Jack Brintnell,
Hensall W.I.
The "Family and Consumer
• Affairs" meeting of Hensall
Womens Institute was held in the
Legion Hall with President Mrs,
Dorothy Beaton presiding. The
roll call, "A new product I have
tried," brought forth many in-
teresting answers, Mrs. Beaton
and Mrs. Grace Peck were
elected delegates to attend the
Area Convention in London. A
special collection will be sent to
Brother Bob Mittleholtz in India
and a donation was made to the
C.N.I.B.
Mrs. Carl Payne was the guest
speaker and gave a most in-
• teresting talk on "Diabetes over
40." She had on display a variety
of foods which were later served
for lunch, Taking part in the
program were Don and Gail
Travers who sang two duets, and
Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt and Mrs.
• Grace Harpole with piano
selections, Program conveners
were Mrs. Elsie Carlile and Mrs.
Myrtle Orr. Hostesses were Mrs.
Grace Harpole and Mrs.
Margaret Ingram.

we can help others regardless of
age?" It was announced that the
Christmas stocking is to be
handed in at the November
meeting,

The Arnold Circle of Carmel
Presbyterian Church met
Monday evening at the Church.

The third meeting of the
Hensall 4-H Club was held at the
home of Mrs. Bill Fuss with 16
present, For the roll call
everyone answered with their
favourite dish using fish, flesh or
fowl.
Five girls demonstrated
salmon loaf. All did practical
work before the meeting was
adjourned. The next meeting will
be held in the Hensall Legion

wedding on Saturday.

Cooksville spent the weekend
with Mr. & Mrs. Walter Spencer.
Mr. & Mrs. Don MacLaren,
Jodi and Brooke, Oakville were
weekend visitors with Mrs.
Bertha MacGregor.
Jack Corbett, who has been
receiving treatment in St,
Joseph's Hospital, London for the
past two weeks returned to his
home this week.
Mr, & Mrs. Ralph Holland and
family, Clinton visited this week
with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Sangster
and Bradley.
Ed. Corbett had the misfortune
while silo filling on Friday to fall
from a ladder and fracture ribs.
He was taken to South Huron
Hospital, Exeter, for X-rays and
is receiving treatment in
hospital,
Mr. & Mrs. Joe De Loge are
visiting with the latter's parents,
Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Chapman prior
to leaving for Arizona where they
will spend the winter months.
Mrs. Dorothy Munroe of
Seaforth was a recent visitor with
Mrs, Bertha MacGregor.
Mr, & Mrs. Robert Mickle,
London spent Tuesday evening
with the former's parents, Mr. &
Mrs. Laird Mickle.
Mrs. Ross MacMillan,
Waterloo spent last Friday and
Charles Mickle, Hamilton, and
Mr. & Mrs. Brian Collins
Waterloo visited over the
weekend with their father who is
ill at his home and their mother,

On Friday evening Mr. & Mrs.
MacLeod Mills were involved in a
traffic accident near Kitchener.
Fortunately neither was injured
but they were unable to attend
the wedding of their niece Sandra
Mills in Oakville. Mr. & Mrs.
Mills spent the weekend with
Mrs. Mills brother Orville and
Mrs. Davies of Guelph.

At a special get together
Wednesday evening at the
Hensall United Church, the
Commissioner for the Clysdale
Division, Mrs. Louella Nash, St.
Marys made a visit, She opened
the meeting with the Guide
Prayer. The roll call was an-
swered by everyone introducing
themselves and telling what
position they hold in Guiding, and
what community they work in.
Leaders were present from
Exeter, Huron Park and Hensall.
A Brown Owl from St, Marys
demonstrated.craft ideas that she
had got from a craft day she had
attended, A question and answer
discussion was much enjoyed
and a tasty lunch was served,

Unit 2 of Hensall U.C.W, met
Monday evening at the Church.
Fran Mickle opened the meeting
with a poem "Thanksgiving
thoughts". The study, given by
Irene Blackwell, was on Africa
and dwelt mainly on Angola, The
roll call with a Bible verse with
the word thanks in it was an-
swered by 12 members and one
visitor,
Joyce Pepper played several
familiar selections on the piano
and Fran Mickle conducted the
business.
The devotional on "Thank-
fulness" was given by Helen
MacLean. Hymns were sung and
the meeting closed with prayer.
Lunch was served by Sadie Hoy
and Jeanette Turner.
Vice-President Joanne Bell
presided and opened the meeting
with PPM entitled "Hap-
piness". She welcomed everyone,
and thanked the members who
had collected in the CNIB can-
vass and also all those who
helped decorate the Church in
October,
Mildred Bell introduced the-
guest speaker Mrs. Shirley
Luther, who' gave a very in-
spiring talk on being thankful.
For the November meeting Mrs.
Hicks from Centralia has agreed
to show slides.
Marg Baker and Janice Baker
gave the worship using
"Thinksgiving" as their theme. I.
