Clandeboye church news Last Thursday the Anglican Church Women met in the home of Mrs. Robert liodgins, The meeting was opened with prayer by president, Mrs. Roy Cun- ningham. Rev. R. A, Carson lead the Bible study. There was some discussion of the place of women as set out by St. Paul. Mrs, Wilfred Cunningham and Mrs. James Cunningham read papers. Mrs. Wilfred Cun- ningham also held a quiz, Plans were made to hold the annual bazaar,tea and bake sale, November 4 in St. James Church Hall. The meeting closed with prayer and a delicious lunch was served by Pat Hodgins, the hostess. On Sunday the church was decorated by the ladies of St, James with flowers, fruits, and vegetables. The flowers in the sanctuary were in memory of Mrs. Percy Valley. Referee group is organized A district Referee's Association has been formed to handle minor and intermediate hockey games in the area. Pat O'Brien of Hensall heads the group as president. Hugh Montgomery of Exeter is the referee-in-chief and Rick Fun- ston of Huron Park is the secretary. Any teams or leagues needing officials are asked to get in touch with Hugh Montgomery. Dublin girls team win WOAA title The Western Ontario Athletic Association junior girls softball championship was won by Dublin. The Dublin girls clinched the title with a resounding 33-6 win over Chepstow, Wednesday night in the second game of a best-of- three series played in Chepstow. The first game played in Dublin resulted in a 21-6 win for the new champions.
