RESIDING IN ZURICH — Agnes Priscilla Bedard, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Percy Bedard Sr., and Gregory George Willert, son of Mr,
and Mrs. Lecland Willert, all of Zurich, were married in St. Boniface
Roman Catholic Church, Zurich, August 19, 1972. They were
attended by Mrs. Madeline Cook and Wayne Willert. The couple are
living in Zurich.

For December a "Christmas
walk" is planned at which tittle
some of the fashionable new
homes in Grand tend, Oakwood,
Beach O'Pines, and Southcott
Pines will be open to the public.
During May a formal dinner
dance will be given althe London
Hunt Club. A garden party will be
held in Grand Bend just prior the
Playhouse opening on July 11th,

RESPECTING
ASSESSMENT APPEALS
MUNICIPALITY: VILLAGE OF HENSALL
The assessment roll may be inspected during business
hours, at the municipal offices located at Town Hall,
Hensall, Ont.
Any complaint with respect to any assessment on the
assessment roll may be brought to the Assessment Review
Court pursuant to section 52 of The Assessment Act,
R.S.O. 1970, c.32 as amended by section 10 of The
Assessment Amendment Act, 1971'.
Notices of Complaint must be made in writing either by
letter or on forms available at the Municipal Offices.
For purposes of identification, please include your name
and postal address, and the reason (s) for complaint. If
possible, note also the assessment roll number, the street
address, concession and lot numbers, and the municipality
in which the property under complaint is situated.
Any Notice of Complaint shall be mailed by ordinary
mail to the Regional Registrar named below, and, in
addition, by registered mail to any person whose assessment
is complained of, not later than the 31st day of October,
1972.

two week vacation spent in
Scotland and London, England.

Girls choose
new officers
The first meeting of the Hensall
4-H Club was held at the home of
Mrs, Bill Fuss with 21 persons
present. Diana Dud, was elected
president.; Brenda, Pepper,
secretary, and press reporter;
and treasurer, Margaret
Westlaken. Alma Oud demon-
strated how to make pizza which
was very much enjoyed. The next
meeting will be in a form of a
picnic,
Mr. & Mrs, Ernest Pyin and
Mrs. Ruth Knight were in
Melbourne over the weekend and
visited with their sister-in-law
and family Mrs. George Andrew.
Over the weekend, Mr. & Mrs.
11,A. Orr visited with the for-
mers' brother James Orr of
Parkhill, and with the tatters'
brother and family Mr, & Mrs.
Joe Gilbert and with Mrs. Lena
Glover, Arkona. They also at-
tended the anniversary service at
Arkona United Church,
The Annual Canvass in Hensall
and area on behalf of the
Canadian National Institute for
the Blind will be held early in
October. Eric Luther, Campaign
Chairman, will be enlisting the
aid of local organizations to assist
with a door-to-door canvass in
Hensall. Area residents are
requested to mail their con-
tributions to Mr. Luther at the
Bank of Montreal. There are 77
blind people receiving C.N.I.B.
service in Huron County.

Corbett expressed sincere thanks
for cards and flowers received.
An invitation to attend the 15th
annual "Degree Rally" at Ruth
Rebekah Lodge, Stratford
November 18 was received,
Following the meeting Mrs.
Maggie Campbell made the draw
for the afghan and blanket, on
which the lodge sold tickets. Mrs,
Elizabeth Riley won the afghan
and Mrs. Ann Klungell won the
blanket.

Mr. Clare Reith, Field Sales
and Procurement Represen-
tative for Gay Lea Foods was
guest speaker at the Canadian
Industries meeting of Kippen
East W.I. at the home of Mrs. C.
Pullman with Mrs. J. Sinclair as
co-hostess.
Mr. Reith gave the history of
Gay Lea and mentioned such
foods as powdered milk, reddi-
whip, cheese, eggs and yogurt
produced, by the company. He
discussed yogurt, what it is, its
origin and uses. Each lady was
given a sample of yogurt and
most staled that it tasted great,
The roll call, "advantages and
disadvantages brought by new
industries in our area", brought
forth such answers as em-
plyment, food for the economy of
the community, pollution and the
problem of fitting people into the
community,
Mrs. H. Caldwell gave the
motto- "Think Canadian, buy
Canadian and live good Canadian
lives."
Friends fete
local couple
Over 60 relatives and friends
gathered at the home of Mr. &
Mrs, Harold Parker Saturday
evening and surprised them on
their 40th wedding anniversary.
They were the recipients of many
gifts.
The lunch was served from a
table centred with a three-storey
anniversary cake, candles in
candelabra and floral
arrangements.
Guests attended from London,
Mitchell, Goderich, Grand Bend,
Oakville, Brampton, Hensall,
Exeter and Stratford.

to employees
The staff of the Bank of Mon-
treal enjoyed dinner at the New
Commercial Hotel Wednesday
evening in honor of employees.
The manager Eric Luther, who
has been employed with the
Bank of Montreal for 25 years
was presented with a pen set.
Miss Mary Goodwin, who has
been an employee of the local
branch for twenty-five years, was
the recipient of a bracelet, and
Miss Kay Hovius, who is being
transferred to the Bank of
Montreal, Thunder Bay was
presented with a Charm
Bracelet.
Members were reminded of the
Rally in October and the in-
vitation to the Seaforth Branch
was accepted. Mrs. H. Parsons
conducted a contest and gave

passes away
Mrs, John Dowson, the former
Eliza Jane Stephenson, passed
away at Clinton Public Hospital,
September 25, 1972 in her 90th
year.
She was predeceased by her
husband and is survived by four
sons, Harold and Glen, RR 1,
Varna, Cecil, Clinton; and
George, Hensall. Also surviving
are six grandchildren and 15
great grand-children.
Funeral services were held
September 27, 1972 from the
Bonthron Funeral Home, Hen-
sall, with Rev. Morrison of-
ficiating, with interment in
Bayfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grand-
children: Bill Consitt, Phillip
White, Ken Caldwell, Doug
Dowson, Earl Tipping and Bill
Dciwson. Flower bearers were
great grandchildren.
Mr, & Mrs. Wm Gill Jr. an-
nounce the birth of a daughter.
Richard Gill has returned
hoine from St. Josephs hospital
London following an accident,
Ed Vincent, Winnipeg, is in a
doctors care.
The Voddens, Western Road,
London have been staying at
their summer cottage recently.
Ipperwash beach has been
blocked off from Ipperwash park
to the Casino, 1 mile, to Raven-
swood.

meeting of Kippen I 4-H Club was
a barbecue, held at the home of
Mrs. Ferris. Hamburgs, lettuce
and marshmallow salad were
served. It was decided to perform
a skit for Achievement Day. The
leaders, Mrs. Ferris and
Maureen Connolly conducted the
meeting.

Kippen Kabobs 4-H Club met
recently at the home of Mrs.
Robert Bell. Judith Mickle was
nominated secretary for the
evening.
A volunteer committee com-
posed of Chris McGregor, Lynn
Alderdice and Joanne Stoll , will
present the skit on Achievement
day. Casseroles and desserts
were discussed and Joanne Stoll
and Linda Bell demonstrated the
making of a tuna casserole.
