The SeptenTher meeting of the
U.C.W. was held in Zion United
Church Thursday evening, Mrs.
Harold Fahner was in charge of
the program and was assisted by
Mrs. Alvin Baker, Mrs. Ed Fink-
beiner and Mrs. Gordon Fink-
beiner
The theme was "Joy, the
Outcome of Service to Others".
Brenda Fahner told of her ex-
perience at camp, Joy in
Leadership. Mrs, Douglas
Warren and Mrs. Ed Finkbeiner
reported on the August con-
ference at Alma College, Joy in
Service, and Mrs. Gordon Fink-
beiner dealt with Joy in Giving
Time and Talents,
Mrs. Baker read the Scripture
and a poem. The five young
people sang, and Shelley played
her accordion as Barbara ac-
companied her on the piano.
During the business session
presided over by Mrs. Alvin
Finkbeiner it was decided to
pursue the study of India during
the year.
Hostesses were Mrs. John
Buxton, Mrs. Clayton Sims, Mrs.
Claire Schwartz, Mrs. Nelson
Lamport.

the morning service at Zion
United Church Sunday. Present

Mac Donald. Billy played several
numbers on the bagpipes, The

Mr. and Mrs. Alf Smith. In the
afternoon Mr. Smith played with
the band at the Decoration
Service in the Exeter Cemetery,
Sunday evening Mrs, Douglas
Warren, representing the
Christian Women's Club, was in
charge of the service at
Huronview. The singing group of
Zion United Church, Brenda Neil,
Shelley Weber, Barbara Ratz,
Paul Fydenchuk and Perry
Preszcator, went with her and
took part in the service.
Word has been received of the
death of Mrs. Charles Green,
formerly of Crediton, The funeral
service was held in Mitchell
Wednesday.

25th wedding anniversary
celebration for Mr. & Mrs. La
Verne Rodd, Woodham, Saturday
evening at Usborne Central

The first 4-H meeting of
Hurondale 5 of "the Third Meal"
was held in Thames Road Church
on Monday evening.
The officers for the club are:

reporter, Laurel Hodgert.
The leaders are Judith Cann
and Frances Zandbergen. They
demonstrated how to make pizza
and it was served for lunch.

Sixty-six ladies and their
daughters sat down to a pot luck
supper on Thursday evening in
the church basement. Group 2
was in charge of the meal and the
hostess, Mrs. Edwin Miller.
