A, Ehgoetz in Exeter. In one case, the Judge decreed that one of the offenders could continue to drive for purposes of work. Anthony Denomme, Zurich, pleaded guilty to driving with over $0 mgs. of alcohol in his blood on February 25. He had been stepped after police spotted his erratic driving and a breathalizer test showed a reading of 250 mgs. Denomme told the court he held two jobs requiring that he drive. He is employed as a bus • driver for the Huron-Perth Separate School board and drives a truck for an area construction firm. Judge Ehgoetz remonstrated the accused, pointing out that if his license was so important, he should have declined to drink when his very livelihood depended on his driving. Denomme was fined $100 and had his license suspended for three months except while driving for the school board or the construction firm, Ii E. Randall Campbell, Exeter, was fined $150 on a similar charge arising ,out of an incident on May 14 when he was stopped by police for erratic driving. He was involved in a minor accident involving a high- way sign. • His license was suspended for six months. A Hensall man, Charles K Doxtator, was fined $100 for careless driving. He was charged after his car went out of control, going through a ditch and into a field. His car was badly wrecked. Ross Tuckey, Exeter, was fined $100 on the same charge, arising out of an accident on June 20 when his car went into a field near the junction of Highway 4 and the St. Marys Road. Extinguisher salesmen 'false' During the months of July and • August the Exeter police have been making a number of in- vestigations with regards to persons attempting to sell fire extinguisher equipment to local property owners. These persons claim to be representatives from the Ontario Fire Marshals Office in Toronto and suggest more fire fighting equipment is required in business premises. A down payment of $500 is requested for the delivery of the equipment. This transaction is all done by telephone, Chief Ted Day advises businessmen that these persons are not from the Fire Marshals office and are misrepresenting themselves to the public. ensions
