A fire of unknown origin
completely destroyed the L-
shaped barn on the farm of Mr.
and Mrs. James Eagleson, Jr.
early Friday morning. The
family was awakened by
telephone by a neighbor but by
this time it was impossible to
enter the building.
Grand Bend and Dashwood fire
brigades responded to the call
and were able to confine the fire
to the barn. The season's crops, a
few implements, some growing
chickens and the family dog were
lost in the fire, Mr. Eagleson
intends to re-build.
Over 500 people attended the
chicken barbecue sponsored by
the women of the United Church
Saturday evening.
