Ross Jaques, RR 1 Woodhani, and Marie Louise Hodgert, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hodgert, Seaforth, exchanged their wedding
vows July 15, 1972, at Egmondville United Church in a double-ring
ceremony conducted by Rev. T. E. Hancock. Sheila Butt and David
Chappel attended the couple. They will reside at Huron Park.

the scene of the wedding of Ruth
Elizabeth Everdell and Richard
(Rick) James Buchanan, July 22,
1972,
Rev. W. H. T. Fulton officiated
at the ceremony and Miss D.
Strand provided the music.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a full-
length white organza gown with
empire waist, long puffed sleeves
and full skirt and train, trimmed
With daisies of french lace. The
elbow-length veil was trimmed
with lace and was attached to a
peaked headpiece of beaded
daisies.
The bride carried a sweetheart
bouquet of pink stoplight,
sweetheart roses, white
miniature carnations and ivy,
Louise McBride was the maid
of honor and bridesmaids were
Mrs, Bonnie Walker and Mrs.
Wendy Mason,
They were dressed alike in full
length gowns of sky-blue
polyester crepe, with empire
waistlines, long full sleeves and
trimmed with white lace and
matching blue velvet, They
carried purity bouquets of white
daisies, and pink roses and
carnations,
Grant Walker was the best man
and ushers were David Buchanan
and Rick Everdell.
Following a reception at the
Port Hope Golf and Country Club,
the couple left for a wedding trip
to the northern New England
states, Quebec City and Mon-
treal.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Everdell, Port
Hope, and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Buchanan,
Hensall.
The couple will reside in
Toronto, where the bride is .a
nurse at St. Michael's Hospital
And the groom is a management
trainee with the Canadian
Imperial Bank of Commerce.

wedding of Bonnie Lorraine Sims
and Dennis Gerard (Gig) Carey,
August 19, 1972.
Rev, J. Mooney officiated at
the service and music was
provided by Paul Dietrich,
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a white
organza gown with an empire
waist, long sleeves and a train. A
pill-box head piece held her veil.
The bridal bouquet was a
cascade of red roses and pink
carnations.
Mrs. Judy Glavin, Crediton
was the matron of honor and
Dianne Edwards, Exeter, was
the other bridal attendant. They
were dressed alike in organza
gowns of pastel yellow, green,
orange ice, and turquoise flowers
and carried white baskets of
white daisies, fern and pink
straw-flowers.
The best man was Gerry
Houde, Huron Park, and ushers
were Scott McNair, Ailsa Craig
and Joseph Carey, Toronto.
Following a reception at
Crediton Community Centre, the
couple left for a wedding trip to
London. The bride's travelling
outfit was a white sizzle pant
dress with a navy sailor collar
and knee high blue suede boots.
Guests attended from Peter-
borough, Nova Scotia, St.
Catharines, Toronto and
Manitoba.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Sims, RR 1
Crediton, and is employed at Hall
Lamp. The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Carey,
Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, and is a
Corporal with the armed Forces,
London.
The couple will live in Crediton,
liftmal.449 - Tevelee,
Marion Joan Varley and
William Hobson Armstrong
exchanged wedding vows in a
double ring ceremony, August 11,
1972.
Rev. Warren, Crediton, con-
ducted the service in Zion United
Church,. and Elva Finkbeiner
provided the wedding music.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of white silk
organza, with long sleeves and
trimmed with white daisies. She
wore a sweeping chapel veil and
carried a cascade of red roses.
Margaret Wright, sister of the
bride, was the matron of honor.
She wore mauve and white silk
taffeta with lace trim and carried
a cascade of blue and yellow
daisies.
The best man was Ted Jones.
Following a reception at Dash-
wood Hotel, the couple left for
Northern Ontario.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Varley, and the
groom is the son of Mrs. Helen
Armstrong, Exeter.
The couple will reside in
Crediton.

service Sunday evening. Mrs.
Luther, Hensall, led in the
singing of Corresponding hymns
with the pictures, accompanied
at the piano by Mr. Luther,
Mrs. Marie Flynn of Clinton
joined Norman Speir and Jerry
Collins to provide the music for
Monday afternoon's activities. A
good attendance of residents took
part in the program with guests
from Goderich and Pontiac,
Michigan, Special features of the
afternoon were a step dance by
Mamie Sutcliffe and solos by
Morgan Dalton,
The Walton Women's Institute
were hosts Wednesday for the
August birthday party. F Mrs.
Neal McGavin introduced a lively
program and was able to get
most of the residents to take part
in the sing-a-long and rhythm
band. There were vocal solos by
Cathy McGavin and John.
Huether; quartet numbers by the
Godkin family, Dianne, Bruce,
Ronald, and Gary; step dancing,
Jeanne McDonald and Cathy
McGavin; violin Linda Godkin
and mouth organ Watson Web-
ster, Mrs. McGavin, Mrs. Godkin
and Marjorie Huether ac-
companied at the piano for the
entertainment.
