The program was started last year with one similar sized group, but was so successful that it has been explanded to two for summer 1972. The versatile members of the group come from all over the province and were chosen from about 500 young people who auditioned for a spot in Sum- mersounds. They receive no pay, but get costs and room and board. Following auditions at Alma College in St, Thomas, the group practised for only three weeks before going on the road, Thus far, they have entertained in about 20 Ontario communities, Almost all the equipment is rented, compliments of the government, and according to one of the drummers in the group, "We have the best sound system in Canada". And it didn't take long to realize that they are making full use of the system. Members moved lithely from one in- strument to another, illustrating both vocal to instrumental talents. From soft folk-songs to lively country and western music and hard rock, the group had a diversity of pace, mood and style which created a stimulating musical experience for those fortunate enough to hear the concert. Many of the songs performed were written by members of the group, and their enthusiasm generated by Summersounds '72 was evidenced in the response of the audience. The efforts of the local Opportunities for Youth group• operating in Exeter and Huron Park made the concert possible. linage ariety • PEPSI • PIZZA • COFFEE Open 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Nightly All Day Saturday And Sundays to 10:00 p.m. 165 Main St. AILSA CRAIG The musicians were billeted in church groups assisted Exeter for two nights, and local meals. pia i i iiii HUM' ii llllll lllll lll lllllll io ll 1011111111111111111111M111111011 1111111 llllll a lllllll JUST ARRIVED NEW FALL Suits & Co-Ordinates • New Fall Slacks - Double Knits and Stretch Wool • Shirts and Sweaters All New For Fall '72 You will be thrilled at the showing of the new Merchandise on display this week, Thursday, Friday & Saturday Len McKnight & Sons lberhatincrrdhrui MEN'S WEAR CH A It GEX Thanks for Shopping at McKnights Summer Specials COMBINES COCKSHUTT 428 with pickup, bean and clover attachments ALLIS CHALMERS 90 with pickup and bean attachments CASE 1000, cab, pickup and bean attachments CASE 600 with pickup and bean attachments CASE 660 with cab, pickup and attachments SWATHERS CASE 955, 12-foot with pickup reel and conditioner CASE 950, 12-foot with conditioner FORAGE HARVESTERS CASE 300 with 2-row corn head MILL MIX ARTSWAY 1420 PLOWS MASSEY FERGUSON 4x14 mounted OVERUM 4x14 mounted OVERUM 3x14 mounted FORD 130 4x14 semi-mount TRACTORS CASE 830 FORD 8N CASE 400 DAVID BROWN 880 FORD 800 NUFFIELD 1060 C.G.
