The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1972-06-08, Page 9Notice To Destroy NOXIOUS WEEDS NOTICE IS HEREBY'GIVEN to all Property Owners in Huron County In accordance with the Weed Control Act R.S.O. 1960, Sec. 3, 13, 19, and amendments thereto, that unless noxious weeds growing on their lands are destroyed by June 15, 1972 and throughout the season, the Municipality may enter upon the said lands and have the weeds destroyed, charging the costs against the land in taxes, as set out in the Act. The co-operation of all citizens is solicited. Mrs. Bev Morgan welcomed the people and opened the programme with the hymn, Jesus Bids Us Shine and prayer, Susan Morgan read the scripture. Brenda Ballantyne played a piano solo and a story, "When The First Man Came" was read by Mrs. Morgan. The roll call was answered by the children putting their money in a jar. Poems, "Why God Makes Little Girls", and "Why God Makes Little Boys" were read by Mrs. Lorne Ballantyne. Graduation exercises then took place with Mrs, Morgan reading the address and Mrs. Ross Cottle welcoming them to the Messengers. Those graduating were Jeffrey Borland, Brent Dawson, Gerry McCarter, Robbie Miller and Dennis Pym. Lunch was then served. United Church Women The June meeting of the Thames Road United Church Women was held Thursday evening in the church basement with WS. William Rohde as hostess. Mrs. Archie Etherington, program convener, was in charge of the meeting of which the theme was "Take Time" and in charge of the call to worship and prayer. Mrs, Ross Cottle read the scripture and Mrs. Etherington gave the meditation. Mrs. Don Bray and Doris Elford ac- companied by Mrs, Reg Hodgert entertained with a vocal duet, A dialogue "Take Time" was given by Mrs. Cottle and Mrs. therington. Mrs, William Cann gave the topic. She read several clippings from the newspapers which were interesting and a filmstrip, "Drumbeat to Dialogue" was enjoyed.
