Word has been received of the
death of Mrs. Lawrence Sch-
wartz, London. She was Thelma
Lightfoot, born in the Brinsley
area. Mr. & Mrs. Schwartz lived
in Crediton before moving to
London,
Mr. & Mrs. J. L. Taylor and
family, Georgetown, spent the
weekend with Mrs. Chris Dinney.
Their daughter, Chrisie, after
many months in the hospital, was
able to be with the family.
Following the report, a plant
exchange was a highlight for the
ladies, with three special plants
given as prizes. Mrs. Mae Holt
won a plant for the lady living
closest to the meeting, as did
Mrs. Hugh Morenz for living
farthest from the meeting. Mrs.
Nola Taylor also won a plant for
having her wedding anniversary
closest to the meeting.

GRAND BEND
The Women's Institute held
their May meeting in the town
hall Thursday afternoon, with
Mrs. Ed Gill, president,
presiding.
The Curator convener, Mrs. R.
Kading was in charge of the
meeting.
The Roll Call was answered by
naming "the first person to live in
your house".
A short history of several of the
churches in Grand Bend was read
from the "Tweedsmuir Book";
"Gospel Hall", "Church of God"
"St, John's By the Lake", the
"White Church" (that was once
on the Mollard line) and the
"Camp services" that were held
years ago in Gibbs Park.
Following this, the ladies all sang
"Church in the Wildwood".
During the business, plans
were made for the dinner
meeting to be held in June. Ten
Dollars was voted to go to the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Fund.
Mrs. Nola Taylor reported on
the District Annual held recently
in Egmondville, this year they
were celebrating their 75th
Anniversary. The theme for the
WaT was "Take time to live the
world has much to give".

Sunday were Mr. & Mrs. A.
Schagena and family, Kitchener.
Grand Bend was really
booming for the 24th May holiday
weekend. Hundreds of young
people arrived for the grand
opening of the summer season.
All places of business were kept
busy accommodating the large
influx of people. Many cottage
owners also arrived to open their
summer homes for the season.
At the home of Mrs. Gordon
Kraft a miscellaneous shower
was held recently in honour' of
bride elect, Jane Stanbury,
daughter of Senator Richard and
Mrs. Stanbury of Toronto.
Hostesses were Mrs. Marg.
Parsons and Janice. Ladies at-
tended from Exeter and Dash-
wood. Mrs. Kraft is an aunt of the
groom Mr. Brian Baynham of
Exeter.
Weekend visisitors with Mr. &
Mrs. Arthur Finkbeiner were Dr.
& Mrs, Sanders, Janet and David,
