Rev. A. M. Schlenker of
Crediton conducted the service in
the United Church on Sunday.
Rev, and Mrs. Dobson were in
Northern Ontario owing to the
death of the latter's mother.
Mr. Schlenker delivered a
sermon appropriate for "Family
Day." He challenged the parents
present to exemplify a life of
faith, hope and love, qualities
which cannot often be expressed
but can be felt by others.
In the world today these kind of
lives are becoming less evident
for many parents cast their
responsibilities upon society and
their children discover they are
not wanted.

The auditorium was filled to
capacity on Wednesday af-
ternoon when the Usborne
Central School presented a
musical program. The senior
choir of sixty students, grades 6
to 8 sang twelve selections under
the direction of the principal A. T.
Taylor. The Junior Choir which
included 40 students from grades
4 and 5, was directed by Mrs.
Jean Hodgert and sang five
numbers. The afternoon of music
was a real treat for the residents
and displayed the fine talents of
the students and the excellent
training by the teachers. The
accompanists for the afternoon
were Mrs. Lois Ottewell, piano
and Mr. P. Snell, electric guitar.
The gymnastic team thrilled the
audience with acrobatics.
