The executive is made up of Helen Lewis, Olga Bond, Hilda Daley, Doris Butler and Shirley Mason. Sports officer is May Murphy. Girls question four ministers The C.G.I,T. met in the United Church Christian Education room for the ministers' in- terview. The four clergymen of Lucan, Rev. W. Tqpling, Rev, R. Carson, Rev. Father McGraw, and Rev. G. Rees were interviewed by four groups of C,G.I.T. girls, each girl asking the same questions of each clergy. These questions and answers were taped for discussion at a later date. The meeting closed with all joining hands and singing taps. Combined service for anniversary Lucan United Church congregations attended an- niversary services at Clandeboye United Church. The Rev. Susan Seymour of Granton, spoke on "God's Lively People". She took several examples of people from history and present times who relate to persons creatively. She said, "Let us not forget to be God's lively people wherever we are at this point of time." Mr. W. Tupling took the ser- vices at Granton and Wesley for Miss Seymour. Anniversary is celebrated Mr. & Mrs. Edward Fargnoli of Bryanston celebrated their silver wedding anniversary at the Lucan Legion Hall, Friday. About fifty guests attended. Mr. & Mrs. Fargnoli were married in Cronyn Memorial United Church, London, with Rev. Latimer performing the ceremony. Gifts were presented to the happy couple and guests attended from Toronto, London, Granton and Lucan, • Correction In last week's paper it stated that the Catholic Women's League held the penny sale at St. Patrick's school. It was the pupils, teachers and parent volunteers who conducted the sale. Paul Hodgson of London was a Thursday visitor with Mrs. Mary Hodgson. Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Robb of Lucan called on former Lucanites at the McCormick Home Sunday. Sunday visitors of Mrs. Mary Hodgson were her niece, Mrs. Helen Carscallen, of Toronto, Arthur Hodgson, Strathroy. Mrs. Marie Hay of Auckland, New Zealand, visited Mr. & Mrs. Murray Hodgins recently. Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Abbott, Mr. & Mrs. Sheridan Revington of Lucan and Mr. & Mrs. Allan Tindall of Wiarton paid their respects Sunday to the late Clayton Abbott of Paris. Lynn Emery spent the weekend as guest of her sister, Mrs. Margaret Hastings. Mr. & Mrs. Claude Sinclair of Haliburton were weekend guests of Mr. & Mrs. Archie Sinclair on their way home from Florida. , Lisa Compton received honors in her Grade I music exam recently. She studies ac- cordion. Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Kennedy and Debbie were Sunday guests Large turnout for Sunshiners The Sunshine Club met in the Masonic Hall, April 4, with president Mrs. Harry Bond Sr. presiding. Thirteen members and one former member from Wingham were present. Progressive euchre was en- joyed with the following winning prizes: men's high, Mrs. Laura Toohey playing a man's card; ladies' high, Mrs, Cecil Neil; men's lone hands, Alonzo Phillips; ladies' low, Mrs. Evan Hodgins and men's low, Mr. Hebden, Readings were given by Mrs. Velma McFalls and Mrs, Cowan. Lunch was provided by Mr. & Mrs. Hebden and Mrs. Velma McFalls. of Mr. & Mrs. Harold Johnson of Belmont. John Hastings of London spent the weekend with his grand- parents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Emery Sr. Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Kennedy and family spent the week-end at their cottage in Colpoy Bay. Fred Mcllhargey is a patient in St. Hoseph's Hospital London and has undergone surgery. Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Robb attended services at the Linklater Funeral Home Kincardine for Mrs. Robb's cousin, Miss Rita Sturgeon, Friday. Mr. Abbott was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Alonzo Abbott. Beginning at 18 he spent his life as an employee of the Bank of Montreal. He served at Mitchell, Stratford, London, Windsor, West Lorne, Hamilton, Tilbury and Tara and spent 17 years in Paris. He is survived by his wife and five children Mrs. Steve (Elaine) Honick of Brantford, Lesley of New Liskeard, Mrs, Ray (Colleen) Tooke of Paris, and twins Brenda and Beverley at home and six grandchildren, He is also survived by Cliff Abbott of Lucan, Murray Abbott of Centralia, Mrs. Ducan (Madelyn) Tindall of Listowel, Mrs. Ken (Amy) Brock of Thorndale. Funeral services were held Monday in Paris with interment in Paris cemetery. Mrs. L. W. Linklater Mrs. L. W. Linklater, the former (Edna Sadlier) passed away recently in Victoria B.C. Mrs. Linklater lived in Lucan during the years her father, James Sadlier, was station agent, After her marriage to Dr. Linklater she lived in Roranda, Quebec. She was a first cousin of Miss Lina Abbott and has a number of other relatives in London and Toronto. Mary Carter Miss Mary (May) Carter passed away in Toronto Western Hospital May 2, 1972, She was the daughter of the late Mr: & Mrs. William Carter and had spent her early life in Lucan and Clandeboye where for a numberof yearsshe worked in the dry goods department of Ross' store. She is survived by two sisters, Miss Eva of Toronto and Mrs. Douglas (Alma) Kelly of Vic- toria. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Toronto. Singers entertain UC ladies group Friendship'Unit hosted a group called the Matronettes Wed- nesday evening, They gave a rendition of old and inspirational songs.
