An overflow congregation
attended the Centennial service
at St. Patricks Anglican Church
Sunday morning when Dr. H.
Rokeby-Thomas was in charge of
the service.
Rt. Rev, Bishop Harold
Appleyard was guest preacher
and the choir of St. Pauis,
Kirkton, with Mrs. Harold Davis
organist, provided the music.
The Bishop's staff was carried
by Larry Lewis of Granton and
the processional cross by Michael
Davis of Saintsbury,
TheBishop consecrated the new
oak altar.The gift of a hymn book
from Mrs. Archie Sinclair of
Lucan in memory of her grand-
mother Sarah Ann Lambourne
was presented. The flowers were
donated by friends.
Refreshments and a social hour
followed the service, in the Racey
Memorial Hall. Guests and past
members were present from
Detroit, London, Dundas, New
Hamburg, Seaforth, Grand
Bend, Forest, Kirkton, Granton,
Ailsa Craig Varna, Centralia,
Lucan, Exeter and Stratford.

A poem "Thoughts On
Motherhood" was given by Mrs.
John Pym.
Mrs. Ro bert Mayer called on
the guest speaker, Mrs. Beth
Batten, Exeter, who gave an
inspiring message. Mrs. John
Pym thanked Mrs. Batten and
presented her with a gift.
At the June meeting members
were asked to answer roll call by
bringing dish cloths, tea towels,
paring knives, etc., for the kit-
chen.
Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne showed
pictures of her recent trip to
California.
Clothes were brought in for the
hale which will be sent to the
Fred Victor Mission in Toronto or
the Children's Aid in Goderich.
Mrs. William Snow stated that
the Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich
would take used nylons.

Zion West held their May UCW
meeting last Wednesday evening
in the church when Mrs. Ray
Jaques gave the devotional on
Friends.
The topic on Angola, Justice
not Charity, was given by Mrs.
M. Mills. Roll call was answered
by a penny for every room in your
home, Articles for a bale and
layette are to be brought to the
June meeting.
The president Mrs. Robert
Hern announced the quilt, made
by the members, had been sold.

the Kirkton Horticultural society
attended the spring meeting at
South Perth Centennial School
Tuesday evening. Russell Ackert,
Ingersoll, was the speaker and
showed slides.
Edwin Martene who has been
staying with his sister, Mrs.
Thomas Hem, for some time is
presently living with another
sister, Mrs. Cliff Salmon, Dash-
wood.
Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Hern were
dinner guests Sunday with Mr. &
