Taking first place was Mrs. I-loward, Currie, then Mrs. Joseph Graham, pang. Butler and Barbara Shea. Barbara was commended for her efforts in bringing nine new persons to Sunday School in one month. .\ new contest will be between two teams rather than in- dividuals. The winners will be honored guests at the picnic planned for June 10, Sunday morning worship began with Mrs. Roy Dykeman at the piano and Robert Hohand leading the singing. Rev. Rees' sermon was entitled "God's Love for His People," Communion was served following the message. Rodger Mason was speaker for the youth service in the evening. Provincial honour certificate and pin was presented to Jamie Kneale, Eighteen members of the Grand Bend "Daisy Dreamers" were also presented with cer- tificates for their Sleepwear project. The girls participated in the Fashion Show also, The Women's Institute presented the leaders Mrs. Howard Green, Mrs. Murray Venner and Mrs. Frank Plumb with a silver spoon each. The Department of Food and Agriculture presented each girl with a spoon. Personals Mrs, E. Garrell of Winnipeg, Manitoba, visited a few days this week with Miss Mary Yeo. Also, Miss Muriel Fall's of Sarnia visited with Miss Yeo last Monday. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Flear visited a few days this week near Kingston with their son Dennis and family. Mrs. H. Dobson was host to the May meeting of the United Church women of Greenway at the manse. Emery Hathway of Alcohol and Drug Concern was guest speaker at the United Church service of worship Sunday. Next Sunday being Family Sunday special music by the Ropp Family will be part of the service . A game was conducted by Mrs. C. Beggar and the meeting closed with lunch served by the hostess and Mrs. p. King. Friday evening, the wedding of Andrew James Van Geel and Nancy Ellen Hardy was solemnized in Holy Trinity Church. !The wedding banquet was served by the ladies of the Church in the Church Hall, Sunday the flowers in the Church were from the funeral of the late Alexander Ramsay. Miss Laura McKenzie and Master Shane Williamson were presented with the Junior Choir awards for the month of April, Rev. R. A. Carson preached on the land. He' said the early Church was concerned with the day, the Sabbath; the land, Israel; and the book, the Bible. He said we in Western Ontario are like the Children of Israel, we are in a promised land. A land that is without scarceness. We should be thankful.
