The Editor,
Exeter 'F-A,
I read with interest the council
notes in the April 20 issue, — that
this would be a backward step, I
will give one.
The purpose of a Community
Public Library is to bring people
and books together, Of the two,
people are more important, We
have many senior citizens who
make a weekly trip (and more) to
the library, A move like the one
mentioned would, in a very literal
sense, separate them.
I realize that we are speaking
of something in the future, but
one would like to feel that every
aspect would be considered
before such a plan was made,
Sincerely,
(Mrs.) Elizabeth Schroeder
in the future it may be better to
combine the public & high school
libraries.
There are many reasons why

More riders?
Dear Sir:
Last Sunday afternoon a small
group of enthusiastic women
mounted their bicycles and rode
from Exeter to Dashwood and
back to raise funds for the Cancer
Society.
These ladies deserve a
tremendous amount of credit for
attempting to ride the 15 miles,
It seems incredible to see that
only 20 ladies from the town of
Exeter and surrounding district
participated in this event. We feel
that for such a worthwhile cause
this was a poor representation of
our community.
Should there be a bicycle ride
for Cancer next year, it would be
rewarding to see a respectable
number of ladies contribute their
time and energy,
While we congratulate the
ladies who took part this year, we
feel that Exeter and district can
make this annual event a real
success by swelling the number
who participate.
Yours truly,
John Hayman
and
Peter W. Snell
