last Wednesday afternoon.

Marys, president of Huron-Perth

Mr. & Mrs, Harold Taggart and
Nancy of London spent the
weekend at their summer home
here . Sunday morning at 10:30
they received a telephone call
from their daughter Ann, from
East London, South Africa,
where she is on a Safari holiday.
It was 5 p.m. Africa time.
Mr. & Mrs. Don Baker and
Sandra Baker spent the weekend
in Detroit with Mrs. Baker's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Tony Regier.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Smith, Tom
Smith and Vicki Burt of
Mississauga spent the weekend
with Mr. & Mrs. Jake Schroeder
and attended the Schroeder-
Mathers wedding and reception
at Dashwood, Friday.
Mr, & Mrs. Dick Zielman and
family attended a family
gathering in Leamington, Sunday
at the home of Miss Susan Janzen
to honour Mrs. Zielman's sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs.
Edward Stadler, on their 25th
wedding anniversary. Later the
family gathered for a service and
supper at the United Mennonite
Church.
Mr. & Mrs. Ed Turnbull spent
last week with relatives on
Manitoulin Island and while there
attended the funeral of Mrs.
Turnbtill's brother, Jim Burt.
Just a few weeks ago Mr. Burt's
son Harold was killed in a plane
crash while he was enroute to a
hospital in Toronto to visit his
ailing father.
Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan and Mrs,
Gordon Bender sang a duet, and a
film on Africa was shown,
"Drumbeat to Dualogue."
Mrs. Sid Baker conducted the
Thank-offering and each member
received a sunshine bag.
Mrs. Gordon Bender president,
dealt with the business. Nineteen
members were present, Good

The regular meeting of Zion
Lutheran Ladies Aid was held
Wednesday with group III and
Mrs. Hilda Rader convener in
charge of devotions and lunch, A
minute of silence was observed in
honor of a member who had
passed away.
Steven and Sandra Kraft
favoured with piano solos and
duets.
Mrs. Ken Keller took for the
topic, "Treating Each Other as
Christians." Bible reading and
discussion made an interesting
topic.
Presbyterial address them on
"The Joy of Living".
She said self-pity destroys and
separates one from the joy that is
to be found in giving oneself in
service to others, She challenged
her audience to turn their eyes
upon Jesus and use their talents
for Him, lest they be taken away.
Mrs. Bryden Taylor thanked
Mrs. Shier for her message.
The visiting ladies were
welcomed by Mrs. Jim Eagleson
and Mrs. Lawrence Curts, Mrs,
Ross Brown, the local president
was assisted in the worship
service by Mrs. Harold Brophey
and Mrs. Joe Horner. Evelyn
Curts accompanied the soloist,
Mrs. Douglas Holmes of Parkhill
and a recording of organ and
piano music by John Innes and
Bill Fasig, musicians with the
Billy Graham crusades was
played.
Following the service
decorated tea tables in the
Sunday School rooms served' as
the setting for an hour of
fellowship under the sponsorship
of Mrs. John Steeper and Mrs.
Harold Brophey and their
committees.

Mrs. Paul Eagleson, Mrs.
Elton Curts, Mrs. Vera Brophey
and Lillian Ulens entertained the
folk at the Green Gables Nursing
Home in Parkhill, Thursday
afternoon.
Men of Grace Anglican Church
held a bee and shingled the roof of
their Parish hall last week.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken Eagleson were
guests at the Webb-Prance
wedding, held in Dashwood
United Church, Saturday.
Mr. & Mrs. Elton Curts visited
with the latter's sister, Mrs. Eric
Greer, who is seriously ill in
Sarnia,
The Willing Workers of the
United Church held their monthly
meeting, Friday evening, at the
home of Bill and Carolyn
Woodburn.
By the way: Hopefully by the
time you read this, man will
again be in moonland. The reason
the cow jumped over the moon
was because there was a short
circuit in the milking machine.
Mrs. James Hayter, president,
dealt with the business. A Mother
and Daughter supper will be held,
May 10, with all mothers of the
congregation invited and group

George Tiernan has returned
home from Sholdice Hospital,

and visited with Mr, St Mrs. Jack
Cudin ore during his stay in

The April meeting of Calvary
United Church Women was held
Tuesday with the community
friendship and visiting group in
charge, Mrs. Mildred Kellerman,
chairlady read the scripture and
prayer.
Mrs. Bruce Guy introduced the
ladies to be "Aware of Senses.
Each member participated in
hearing, feeling, smelling,
tasting and seeing different
items.
