nighties, long and short, and at the high school auditorium,
every kind of lounge wear werre Saturday.
4H girls parade ‘sieepytime'
wear at Achievement Day
"Sleepwear" was the topic of
the girl's last club and they were
modelling the outfits they had
made during the last several
weeks.
The homemaker's course,
,vonsored, by the Ontario
department of agriculture and
foods has a total of 1400 girls,
aged from 12 to 26, in 100 clubs
throughout the County.
The program's top award, an
advanced honors certificate, was
presented to Barbara Dougall, 20,
Exeter, who had completed la
half-year courses.
Girls who were presented with
provincial honor certificates for
completing 12 courses were
Susan Tuekey, Mary Ann Gielen,
Gwen Mills, Mary Hodgins,
Karen Kerslake, Darcy
Etherington and Joan Lynn.
Five girls, finishing six clubs
fth county honors, were Linda
Fleming, Nancy McKenzie,
Shirley Zanclbergen, Brenda
Cooper and Eleanor Johns.
Catherine Hunt, Home
Economist for Huron, was in
charge of the arrangements and
comments on the fashion show
were given by Judy Reasbeck,
Home Economist_ for Bruce
County.
Besides the fashion show,
exhibits were displayed by
Crediton I, Elimville I, Elimville
II, Hurondale HI and Hurondale
VI. These exhibits all had to do
with sleepwear and they were
commented on by Brenda Link,

Combined choirs
sing at service
The status of African women,
Conducted in the form on a
simulated telephone conversation
led into the sermon topic of Rev.
Bob Okine, guest preacher, at the
combined service of Trivitt
Memorial Anglican Church and
Exeter United Church.
The occasion was also the 10th
anniversary of the UCW
organization which is studying
Africa this year.
Mrs. Dick Jermyn, Mrs. Gerry
MacLean, Mrs. Bob Dinney and
Mrs. Bob Down interviewed the
speaker who is from Ghana and a
post graduate student at Huron
College.
The combined choirs of the two
churches rendered a spiritual
`Steal Away' and the Bayfield
Ladies Trio, guest artists, sang
several selections,
A luncheon and a time of
fellowship in the church parlour
concluded the service.

Discussion on the many facets
of baby sitting will be open to the
audience.
The class of around 25
youngsters has spent the eight
weeks learning about the
responsibilities of baby sitting
and lectures have been presented
on Health by Patricia Rowe; The
Ethics of Baby Sitting, Mrs. Art
Whilsmith; Keeping Them Safe
and Sound, Mrs. Harry
Dougherty and Mrs. Wm,
Belling; Don't Panic (how to
meet emergencies in the home),
Constable Robertson and Larry
Smith; Understanding Children,
Mrs,Earl Campbell; and Keeping
Them Happy, Mrs. Bob Russell.
Mrs, W.D. Jarvis, representing
the Girl Guide Association, which
sponsored the course, says she is
pleased with the assistance they
have been given for the course
and she invites parents, em-
ployers of baby sitters and all
interested persons to attend the
final meeting at the high school,
Thursday evening at 7;00 p.m.
Besides taking part in the
discussion they will have the
opportunity to meet the
prospective baby sitters who will
try their examination next week,
Those who are successful in
passing the exam will receive
certificates.
The eight-week baby sitting
course currently being conducted
Thursday evenings at the high
school concludes this week with a
panel made up of two students

County.
Thirteen clubs participated in
the event.
The project for fall, 1972, will
be `The Third Meal',
