The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1971-12-09, Page 9Saturday was "Hat Trick" day
in houseleague hockey as no less
than four players preformed the
feat. David Atthill in novice and
Brad Taylor, Paul Pooley and
Darrell Preszcator in Pee Wee
scored three goals each. On top of
this Brian Mercer scored five
goals and Brian Horrell got four.
Perhaps the goalies don't stand a
chance with sharp shooters like
this on the ice.
Boston remains undefeated in
novice houseleague as they
defeated New York 3-1. After
several trades it appears as
though Boston is still the team to

All of the customers served by the Exeter
P.U.C. use electricity to light their homes. And
just about everyone has at least one electric
refrigerator, washing machine, T,V„ radio,
electric range or counter top cooking facility.
That is just a start. Think of all the other
ways in which electricity makes your home
more enjoyable and easier to run, Then
compare the cost of electricity for doing a good
day's work with anything else you buy. You'll
find that in Exeter, electricity is the biggest
bargain in the household budget. For instance,
average use of 806 kilowatt hours a month,
presently comes to only 37c per day. Such
value is no accident. It is the result of Hydro's
constant efforts to employ every possible
means, short of lowering the standard of
service, to operate economically.
Hydro has utilized vertually every
economical water-power site and is forced by
the increasing demand for electricity to
construct generating stations using other
sources of fuel. Operation costs at these new
stations, and the costs of eliminating air
pollution at existing coal-burning stations are 8
contributing factor in the increased cost of
electricity. To meet these increased costs it is
essential that the Exeter P.U.C. adjust its rates
to its customers. However, you will still be
getting a tremendous value.

On Wednesday nights starting
at 7 o'clock we have Shamrock
hockey, three games in all. The
players on these three teams are
picked out of the houseleague and
quite naturally are the better
players. There are coaches and
managers for each team, just like
the Jr. Hawks and the games to
all concerned are just as im-
portant. Referee's are sent to
these games from an area
referee's association and are of a
very high calibre.
Anyone who has time to spare
on a Wednesday can come up to
the Arena and for a modest fee
see three good games of hockey.
Attendance at the games has
been quite good but the arena is a
large place and there is room for
many more so lets see you at the
arena on Wednesday nights.
On Sunday and Monday
December 26-27 there will be a
two day Mite Tournament at the
arena. Starting time will be 9
o'clock each morning, Games
continue each day up to 9 o'clock
in the evening. Keep these dates
in mind if you want to see Mite
hockey at its best!
