the 4-H was announced at
Parkhill, Saturday.
Mrs. Sneigrove, convener of
the meeting spoke on her ex-
perience during her two year
service in Air Force. Mrs.
Crozier, retiring president, who
is moving to London was
presented with a gift.
Mrs. Robb and Mrs. Maguffin
served tea, assisted by the
hostess, and a thank you was
expressed by Mrs. B, Smith to all
taking part in the meeting.
Mrs. Jolliffe was winner of the
mystery prize and a poem was
read by Mrs. V. I lardy.
The December meeting will be
a pot luck luncheon December 7.

The Irish won two of their three
games played this last week. The
loss was to the Hawks in Exeter
last Friday night for details see
the summary on the sports page.
Lucan bounced back from their
loss to Belmont and before the
home town crowd won a decisive
7-5 game, on Wednesday. Jim
Hearn led the Irish with two
goals. Singles went to Craig
Carman, Jeff Craig, Bob Evans,
Pete McInnis and Tom Hodgins.
For Belmont the scorers were
John Wilisey, Doug Hepburn,
Ken Gracen.
Lucan was way out in front in
the penalties, picking up 18 to the
Sunsets 10. The score was tied
at one apiece after the first 20
minutes. Lucan scored three
limes in the second and Belmont
twice. In the final period Belmont
was held scoreless while the
Wean crew scored 3 times.
Sunday night Lambeth's Tom
Hodgins scored the hat trick to
lead Lucan to a 5-4 win over a
very determined home team.
Ron Funston put Lucan ahead
at 4.20 of the first period on a pass
Irom Pete McInnis. Then at 5,34
Dennis Carty found the range
with assists going to Bra-d
England and Jim Hearn.

Linda Lightfoot, bride-elect,
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Russell
Lightfoot, Lucan was honored
with four miscellaneous showers
previous to her marriage this
week to Lorne Morley,son of Mr.
& Mrs. Arnold Morley, also of
Lucan.

Boys and fathers

The Lucan Biddulph School
showed a film Thursday "Boy to
Man" to boys of Grades VI, VII
and VIII and their fathers. Mr.
Berdan was very pleased with an
audience of 90 persons.
The dental hygiene clinic
showed films for dental care to
the pupils from kindergarten to
grade VI, Friday. A fluoride
program was carried out and
pupils instructed on decay
preventative care of teeth.
