The area's second major
winter sports centre opens this
weekend.
Hully-Gully Sno-Sport,
operated by Randy and Audrey
Collins, R,R, 1 Varna, are having
an open house this Saturday and
Sunday to unveil their facilities.
It entails 1,000 acres, much of it
under agreement with neigh-
boring farmers, in the area two
and a half miles west of the
Huron Centennial School at
Brucefield.
Facilities include a snack bar,
bush trails, hill climbs, skating,
tobagganing and a sugar shack.
Door prizes and refreshments
are being offered to visitors this
weekend along with

equipment, ATVs and a

John Becker scored two goals
to pace the Dashwood Bears
scoring attack in the 5-5 draw
with Zurich.
Scoring in single fashion for the
Bears were Bill Hoffman ,Randy
Becker and Scott Regier. Vin-
cent's goal came in the third
period and gave the Dashwood
club the tie.
Most of the scoring in the game
came in the second period, Kevin
McKinnon scored two goals and
Merin Overholt and Pat
Corriveau each scored once for
Zurich in the middle frame. Their
first counter was fired by Bob
Johnson at the .37 second mark of
the first period.
Henson 4 Huron Park 2
The Ilensall Cascadians scored
two unanswered goals in the
second period and went on to
down Huron Park 4-2.
Gary Kyle, Hensall's lop scorer
of the night notched both middle
goals. Bill Taylor and Bill Soldan
assisted on the first with Charlie
Dalrymple earning an assist on
the second successful shot,
The other Ilensall goals were
scored by Bill Chipchase and
('raig Chapman,
The first I luron Park goal
came in the opening session with
Dale Skinner scoring on a play
started by Larry Brintnell. Bob
Nadon's unassisted effort in the
third period completed the Huron
Park scoring for the night.

arena.

the teams. Last Saturday's score
was 4 to '2 for Boston over Van-

Greg Skinner scored the first
goal of the game for Boston, Dave
Bogart added two and Jeff
Newby the final tally. Hard
shooting Danny Bell scored both
goals for Vancouver.
New York and Montreal played
to a 2-all tie. Brian Mercer scored
both goals for Montreal, Doug
Brooks and Preston Dearing
each scored a goal for New York,
It appears as though the teams
are quite evenly matched in pee
wee houseleague, Brian Horrell
was top goal scorer with four
goals although his team lost the
game by a score of 6 to 5. Brian
Clarke added the other goal for
the Mustangs. The six goals for
the Black Hawks where scored by
five different players. Fred
Robinson, had two while Perry
Pooley, Paul Pooley, Eugene
Clarke and Bill Deters each
scored one.
The second game was hard
fought all the way with Bruin's
finally coming out on top with a
score of 7 to 5.DarrellPreszcator
and Paul Geiser each had the
"hat trick" while Fraser Boyle
scored a single for the winners.
Two players each scored two
goals for the Barracudas, they
were Brad Taylor and Murray
Stewart with a single from the
stick of Randy Fisher.

This Friday night will be
change from the regular routine
at the arena. For the past 15 or so
years Friday night has been
"Hockey night in Exeter", but
this Friday we will have public
skating from 8 to 10,
With the withdrawal of a team
in the Jr. league after the
schedule was drawn up leaves the
Hawks idle this F'riday, so
skating it is. One other change
there will be no public skating on
Saturday night, The ice is rented
for a skating party by the
Christian Reformed Church.
It looks as though some player
trades will have to be made in

hockey league opened the 1971-72
season with a doubleheader at the
Exeter arena, Thursday night.
The Bank Boys trounced the
Juveniles by a 13-4 score while
!he Vikings, the newest club in
the league edged Newby Tire, 9-7:
Rick McDonald led the Bank
Boys with four goals to his credit.
Art Gillen was next in line with a
hot triple performance while
Hans Zeehiusen netted a pair of
goals and singles were fired by
11111 Farquhar, Fred Wells, Pete
Lawson and Scott Burton.
Kim Robertson scored twice
for the Juveniles with single
goals being credited to Dale
Skinner and Jack Mayer,
Three goals from the slick of
Pete McFalls was the best effort
for the newly formed Vikings.
Ron Dougall and Bill VanBergen
notched two goals each and Rick
McDonald and Jack Baker fired
single scores.
Jim MacDonald with four goals
was the top scorer for Newby
Tire. Tom Watt was next with a
pair of successful shots and Doug
McBride added the odd counter.
