Do you believe in Black Magic?
I do, because last spring the
Belmont Sunsets cast a spell on
the Lucan Irish and then
proceeded to knock them out of
play-off contention in fine style.
Someone forgot to get the magic
words to break the evil spell and
Saturday night the Sunsets.

goals to Lucan's lone marker.
The Irish were held off for the
first twenty minutes, whilst
Belmont scored four times, Early
in the second period Pete
McGinnis took a pass from Brad
England for Lucan's only goal.
'Belmont scored one in that
period, and then went on to beat
the Irish with three unanswered
goals in the third, before the
buzzer sounded to mercifully end
the game.
The Irish picked up their first
penalty when the game was only
fifteen seconds; for the next fifty-
nine minutes a steady parade of
green sweaters did their best to
occupy the sin-bin.
The Irish now have a respec-
table showing of three wins and
two losses. Both defeats being at
the hands of the teams that kept
them out of the finals last year.
The third line of McGinnis,
England and Funsten are playing
the best hockey of the seventy-
one season, and could prove to
he• the number one trio for the
Irish.
Last night Belmont played a
return engagement in Lucan,
Tomorrow night Lucan will
travel to Exeter to meet the over-
rated Hawks, while next Wed-
nesday Lambeth will provide the
opposition in Lucan. Hopefully
the Irish will regain their cool

first place.
