SAFETY
The snowmobile industry, too, ▪ has its options and accessories.
Most snowmobile
manufacturers offer engine
options and many market
snowmobile suits, helmets, boots
and trailers to go with their
machines. But so far accessories
are largely the field of smaller,
• secondary manUfacturers.
Here are some of the things
they've come up with:
A fabric' and tubular frame
contraption that fits over the
snowmobile to protect driver and
passenger from the elements,

and side curtains and leave the
upper part of,your body exposed,
or add a top cover to make a
complete enclosure.
A steel guard to protect the
snowmobile windshield and to
some degree the driver from such
hazards as branches and barbed
wire fences. The guard will hook,
but not cut a wire.
Roller equipped skis so you can
run your machine on grass in-
stead of snow, Or wheels to bolt to
the snowmobile's regular skis to
do the same job.
A telescoping mast with a flag
or pennant. You fly the flag above
your machine to alert others to
your presence - when you're
going over a ridge, for example.
A variety of survival kits for
those heading into the wilds. A
minimum kit includes foods,
inatches, nylon cord, aluminum
foil, fishhooks, knife, fishing line,

The Orpha Club held their
meeting last Tuesday evening at
the home of Miss Mary Yeo. Mrs.
Louise Wilson opened the
meeting by giving some statistics
from a letter she received from
the Medical Centre Board of
which she is a representative
from the Orpha.
The treasurer reported over $90
had been realized from the Orpha
dinner.
The ladies decided to have a
Christmas party and final plans
will be completed at the next
meeting.
Raffle prize was won by Mrs. L.
Wilson. Lunch was served by
Mrs. E. Brenner and Miss A.

Girls have an unfair advantage
over men: If they can't get what
they want by being smart, they
can get it by being dumb,
and playing cards.
A folding steel ramp to simplify
loading and unloading if you
carry a snowmobile in a truck.
A variety of sleds, scows,
sleighs and cutters to carry
people, cookout supplies, cam-
ping or fishing equipment, of
what have you. Some have a seat
like a buggy, others have a seat
that you straddle like a
snowmobile's. Some have no seat
at all. Some fold, others expand
into a tentlike shelter for cam-
ping or ice fishing. One
manufacturer offers a unit with a
stretcher for emergency rescue
work.
A kit to change a manual
starting machine into an electric
starting machine. The kit works
.only on engines built with a
starter ring. Your owner's
manual or your dealer can tell
you if you can make the con-
version.
