Who would cover your family's bills if
you weren't here to do it?
A New York Life pol-
icy would. With ready
cash when it's needed
most. Cash that can
provide not only the
necessities of life, but
some of its luxuries,
too. After all, that's
what life insurance is
all about.
But protection isn't
our whole story. You
see, that same New
York Life policy can provide cash for you as well. Cash to
see you through a financial emergency, help your children
through college, or allow you to enjoy a more comfortable
retirement.
We know. New York Life has had a hand in protecting families
like yours since 1845, And because we're a mutual company,
only our policyowners receive our dividends. For millions of
them, current record high dividends have brought the cost
of our life insurance to an all-time low.
One of our very best assets is the New York Life Agent in
your community, He's thoroughly trained. He has the know•
how to show you how best to fill your life and health insurance
needs.
Talk to your New York Life Agent. Let him help take those
bills off your mind.

An adult workshop for the
mentally, retarded is the next
project for the local branch of the
Association for the Mentally
Retarded.
A dinner meeting sponsored by
this organization Wednesday
night is scheduled with the view
to giving interested persons the
opportunity of assisting finan-
cially with this latest project and
learning the reasons why a
workshop is needed in this area.
Guest speaker for the occasion
is Donald Nisbet, an authority in
the field of education for the
retarded. Entertainment will be
provided by a band from Sarnia.
The South Huron Association
for the Mentally Retarded was
organized in January, 1968. The
first need was thought to be for
some service for the pre-school
retarded child. The first class
with two children was started in a
small room at SHDHS with
volunteer teachers and drivers.
Later, when this accommodation
became too small, it was moved
to an empty room in the JAD
McCurdy School in Huron Park.
A co-ordinator was hired and taxi
transportation provided.
When the Board of Education
took over the training of the
school age children, they also
took over the classroom, In two
years the school has developed
from one empty room with no
supplies and four children to a
well-equipped school of two
rooms with 15 students and ac-
commodations to handle more.
The association opened nursery
school classes in the basement of
the Crediton Community Centre
in 1969, It was later moved to the
Alhambra Hall south of Grand
Bend where a fully licensed
Nursey School is conducted by
specially trained teachers and
