"It's just a bush with a pond away from the lake, he said, "and try and develop it into something like a park. Work is the only way I can relax." Monsignor Bourdreau was born and raised in Tilbury, where he attended both public and separate school as a youth. He received his BA degress from St. Therese College in Quebec, and then took his theological course in St. Peter's Seminary, London. Following his ordination into the priesthood in 1927, he served for some time in Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor, as chaplain, instructor of nurses, spiritual director for the Sisters, and part- time chaplain for the navy.
