Staff a Women's Institute at their
May meeting held in the township
hall, May 26.
The new president Mrs. John
Miller presided and opened the
meeting with the Institute Ode
and Mary Stewart collect,
The roll call was, Which do you
prefer .., Mini, Midi or Maxi?
There were 50 who answered and
the Mini was in the majority.
A report on the district annual
was given by Mrs. Ed Chappel
and a report on the officers
conference was given by Mrs.
Charles Douglas.

McPhail volunteered to set up the
Institute display at Mitchell fair.
Linda Miller played a collec-
tion of numbers on her accordion
among them the number she
played at the music festival.
Staffa I, 4-H club girls set up
their display on Safety in the
Home with Patti Norris and
Joanne Ross giving the com-
mentary.
All members of the Staffa III
club participated in a skit on
First Aid.
Mrs. Frank Hamilton, Mrs.
Carter Kerslake and Mrs. John
Templeman were named a
committee to locate a orchestra
for the New Year's eve dance.
Guests, Mrs. Elsie Willems and
Mrs. Marjorie Huchison,
demonstrated hair styles and
make-up for 1971. Their models
were three 4-H girls, Misses Judy
Jeffery, Kathy Douglas and
Donna Waddell. Mrs. John Miller
expressed the appreciation of all
present. Lunch was served by the
hostesses, Mrs. Walter O'Brien,
Mrs, Penelope Fell, Mrs.
Cameron Vivian and Mrs. Jo Van
Valkengoed.
WALKATHON
Hibbert young people spon-
sored a 221/2 mile Walk-A-Thon
Saturday to raise money for the
South Hibbert Atheletic Society.
Ninety-six started out from
Cromarty, walking north to
Staffa, then east to No. 23 high-
way, then north to Mitchell, west
on No. 8 highway to Dublin and
south to Cromarty.
Roger Haines and John
Edwards were the first to
complete the walk.
