An enthusiastic group of grade
fours and fives from Mt. Carmel
separate school with their
teacher, Mrs. Glendinning and
principal Sister Viola, recently
enjoyed a trip to the Glendinning
sugar bush.
The boys and girls were driven
to the site by George Glendinning
by tractor and wagon and en-
joyed lunch in the log cabin
before dividing into groups to

The regular schedule of the
Exeter Legion mixed dart league
will be completed with Friday's
list of games with playoffs
beginning the following week.
The Dark Angels with a season
point total of 106 are assured of a
first place finish while the B & J's
are second with 93 points.
Bill Smith leads the men with
most games won at 49 with Keith
Brintnell second at 39.
Barb Hearn leads the ladies
with 33 victories while Annie
Lawson is second with 24.
Norm Ferguson and Gerry
Edginton have 180 each to lead
the men in high scoring while
Barb Hearn's 140 and Verdun
Lindenfield's 138 are best for the
ladies.

In the following weeks the class
made sketches, paintings,
models and project books on all
they had learned. Father
Mooney, who also went on the
trip, showed the class some
excellent slides he had taken of
the whole rewarding excursion.

Lieury jumped ahead with two
unanswered scores in the middle
frame.
Harry Martin tallied the first
on a three-way combination with
Gerald Nordeman and George
Fraser. Nordeman was on the
firing end of the other goal with
assists going to Schlegel and
Fraser.
The Lieury lead was cut to a
single goal early in the third
period' when Rene Boogemans
completed a triple passing play
with Randy Becker and John
Becker.
Only two minutes later it was
Nordeman scoring the final
Lieury goal on a pass from John
Duerksen.
With Lieury out in front 4-2, the
Bulldogs went to wrok with
Randy Becker cutting the Lieury
lead to one goal at the four
minute mark. Assists went to
Rene Boogemans and Jim
Dietrich.
The tying goal two minutes
later came from the stick of John
Becker with brother Randy
helping.
Huron Park
boys for ball
All boys in Huron Park and
surrounding area wishing to
participate in Little League
baseball this summer are asked
to attend try-outs Saturday
morning at 10 a.m. at the Huron
Park ball park.
Any boys between the ages of 7
and 16 will be welcome.
An organizational meeting will
be held Monday night at 7.30 at
the Huron Park curling club with
all parents urged to attend.
Zurich eliminated
The Zurich bantams lost in
their attempt to repeat as Ontario
Minor Hockey Association
Bantam "E" champions.
In the fourth game of a best-of-
five series at the Exeter arena,
Friday night, Oakwood downed
the Zurich youngsters 5-3 in
overtime to win the cham-
pionship.
Mike Kelly's second goal of the
game at 1.52 of overtime broke a
3-3 deadlock and Rick Truax fired
his second of the night into an
empty net with six seconds
remaining to sink the Zurich
club.
Captain Gerald Weido scored
twice to lead the Zurich scoring
attack with Bill Bedard notching
the other counter.

At a special meeting Thursday
night, a selection committee Of
RAP named the swimming
instructors and playground
supervisors for this summer's
activities in the town of Exeter.
Donna Doidge will be the chief
instructor with Susan Tuckey
and Bob Dobbs as the other in-
structors. Cheryl Sweet will be an
assistant instructor,
At Victoria Park, Joanne
Burke and Diane Adkins will be'
in charge of supervising the
wading pool and other
recreational activities.
A survey is currently being
conducted to determine if there is
enough interest to hold a senior
playground program at Com-
munity park for six weeks during
the summer.
If it 18 established, Debi
Wooden and Ann Pinder will be
added to the staff of playground
supervisors.
