PERSONALS
Mr. & Mrs. John Morrissey
and Mr. & Mrs. Harold
Finkbeiner have taunted home
from an enjoyable trip to
Florida,
Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence McCann
are enjoying a holiday in sunny
Florida,
The Irish scored three goals in
each period while Mitchell
managed one in the first and one
at the 19:23 mark of the third
period.
Lucan outshot the Hawks 42
to 41. The Irish were assesed nine
penalties and Mitchell six. Lucan
travelled to Mitchell last Tuesday
night and the third game was
played in Lucan last night.
Lucan ended the regular
season in third place by defeating
the Belmont Sunsets 8 to 6 in
Lucan on February 9,
Three Lucan players scored
twice in this win. They were Jack
Bradley, Tom Hodgins, and Dave
Revington, Jeff Craig and Doug
Rosser each scored one. Doug
Hepburn and Brian Abbey scored
two each and Barry Stratton and
John Willsey rounded out the
Sunsets scoring.
As usual Lucan picked up the
lion's share of the penalties
getting 11 of the 16 called.
One of the players to watch in
the weeks to come is Doug Rosser
who wears sweater number 13, an
unlucky number for anyone who
happens to get in his way.
Doug plays left wing with the
same enthusiasm as Eddie
Shack when he brought the
crowds to their feet in Maple Leaf
Gardens a few years back.
Doug is effectually called
"Road Runner" by his team
mates and after watching him
patrol his section of the ice you
will find he is just that.
Jeff Craig who has the best
slap shot on the team has found
his place on right wing where he is
a threat with his close'in drives on
the net and muscle in the corners,
The Irish are eager, healthy
and in the best of condition and
area fans should be treated to
some good exciting hockey win
or lose in the weeks to come. Be
sure to wear your "I'm an Irish
fan" button to the next game.
