No difference in
sacred, secular
At an address at Exeter
council's inaugural, the Rev. Glen
Wright suggested to council there
was no difference between those
involved in sacred or secular
work.
"We are all concerned about
people," he said, adding that the
clergy should keep abreast of
municipal affairs from that
standpoint.
Noting the thick notebooks of
some senior members of council,
he said they obviously tell of a
great deal of business.
In wishing council well in their
future endeavours, he jokingly
noted that it developed some
unexpected sources of talent.
He said he never thought of
Councillor Helen Jermyn having
an interest in drains and sewers.
After the meeting, Rev. Wright
was guest of council members at a
dinner at Rether's. Also in
attendance were former council
member Ross Dobson, the town's
department heads and the press.

IN MEMORIAM —
BRYAN — In loving memory of
a dear father and grandfather,
Joseph E. Bryan who passed
away January 15, 1970.
The blow was great, the shock
severe
We littlethought the end was
And only those who have lost
can tell
The pain of parting without
farewell,
More each day we miss you,
father
Friends may think the wound is
healed
But they little know the sorrow.
That lies within our hearts
concealed.
— Lovingly remembered and
sadly missed by daughter,
Leone, son-in-law Jack and
Debbie, Wayne, Donna,
Heather and Brenda Riddell.
2c
BRYAN — In loving memory of

The love a heart holds dear;
Fond memories linger every day,

DESJARDINE — In loving
memory of a dear husband
and father Byron DesJardine
who passed away so suddenly
one year ago January 14,
1970.
Little we knew as we woke that
morn
The sorrow that night would
bring;
The call was sudden, the shock
severe
To lose the one we all loved so
dear;
But in His wisdom, God has
planned beyond our power to
see
It would be like heaven if you
were only here.
— Too dearly loved and sadly
missed to ever be forgotten
by wife Audrey, Debbie and
Laverne. 2c
DESJARDINE — In loving
memory of a wonderful son
Byron who passed away one
year ago January 14, 1970.
This month comes back with sad
regret
It brings back a day we will
never forget;
You fell asleep without goodbye
But our memories of you will
never die;
No one knows the grief we bear
When our family meets and
you're not there.
— Lovingly remembered and
sadly missed by mother,
brothers and sister. 2*
DESJARDINE — In loving

How often we wish that you
were here.

and Lorie. 2*
RUSSELL — In loving memory
of our dear daughter Audrey
who passed away four years
ago January 18, 1967.
• We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds;
The days we do not think of you
Are very hard to find.
They say that time heals all
sorrows
And helps one to forget;
But time so far has only proved
How much we miss you yet,
God gave us strength to take it
And courage to bear the blow;
But what it meant to lose you
Audrey
No one will ever know.
— Sadly missed and lovingly
remembered by Mom and
Dad. 2*

The Canadian Bible Society
relates closely with other
national Bible Societies in 49
countries of the world, through
the United Bible Societies.
The special project adopted
by the Society's Western Ontario

Biafra" walkathon was
undertaken between Ingersoll
and Thamesford which raised
nearly $1,600 'for this project.
Many people in the 163
Branches of the Society in
Western Ontario assisted the
Bible cause in making this
remarkable achievement. The
highest previous contribution
from the people of Western
Ontario was $95,732.95 in
Centennial year. The voluntary
