The Branch 540 sponsored
bantam and pee wee hockey
teams entered in the
International Silver Stick hockey
tournament at Watford are doing
exceptionally well.
Both teams won their Second
Rounds. Our bantams beat
Dorchester 5 to 0 while the pee
wees took Glencoe 4 to 0. Next
Saturday both teams play again
on their way to the finals and I
know the best wishes of Lucan
follow both teams.
I am advised 16 fans drove to
Watford to watch the bantams
play at 7:00 am. How's that for
dedication? I am sure they must
have helped the teams
immensely.

our Novice team is just starting

game. Come on now, why not

want is your support.
"And still they come". Yes,
Sir we signed up three more new
members on Saturday. Branch
540 are happy to announce they
now have four female members.
Yes Sir, the folks in Lucan and
area really know where the action
is and it's at the Royal Canadian
Legion. It is really wonderful to
know that so many "continue to
serve" for that is what you are
doing Comrades. You served your
country in times of crisis, now
you are serving in times of peace.
How you might ask?
The answer is simple. By
making sure the fallen are
remembered forever, their
widows and orphans and the
many thousands of disabled are
provided for. We also serve the
community by our many Legion
sponsored programs.
Now you have a brief idea of
our aims and objectives. Now you
know why we are the action set.
While on membership, please be
advised Branch Manager Carl
Stuckless has your 1971
membership card at the Legion,
next time you pay a visit, contact
Carl and pick it up.
The Comrades wish to thank
Comrade President Jack Elson

$300.00 portable bar they
presented to the Legion to aid
their community sports program.
The portable bar is on display at
the Legion and is to be raffled,
