Clandeboye
house party
By MRS. J. H. PATON
CLANDEBOYE
Sunday, January 10 the first
Sunday after the. Epiphany, the
Rev. R. A. Carson preached on
the ministry. He said a minister
was called of God, set apart, and
ordained to make God known
through Jesus Chrust.
Mr. Carson implied this
meant that a minister had
responsibility to God. He was
appointed to lead a congregation
not to be led by them. Often he
had to give leadership that
wasn't popular but it was
Christian.
Mr. Carson concluded that
the problem today is that many
people have never realized that a
minister is, in a sense in which
they are not, clothed with
spiritual authority from Christ,
which is to be used to promote
Christ's Kingdom and His glory.
Next Sunday, January 17
Holy Communion will be
celebrated at 12:30 p.m. The
Sunday School will meet at the
same hour.
The annual vestry meeting
