Mrs. Margaret Ingram. The Noble Grand, Mrs. Grace Thompson presided, assisted by Vice-Grand, Mrs. Myrtle Taylor. The semi-annual report was presented by the treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy Corbett. Mrs. Aldeen Volland reported for the C.P.T. fund stating the final euchre party of the season was well attended and the Noble Grand of Goderich bodge, Mrs. Edith Craig, spoke briefly. The D.D.P. Mrs. Bowra addressed the members and conducted a questionnaire. It was announced Mrs. Lois McFalls of Pride of Huron Lodge, Exeter would be the incoming D.D.P. for Huron District No. 23. All the Past Noble Grands are invited to the District meeting to be held in Goderich April 22. Progressive Euchre was enjoyed at the close of the meeting, with Mrs. Nellie Riley gaining high score; Mrs. Dorothy Corbett, consolation: Mrs. Vera Mrs. Robert 13e11 was installed as president of the Kippen East Women's Institute annual meeting at the Hensall Legion Hall. Her executive for the year 1970-1971 is as follows: Honorary president, Mrs. Ken McKay; first vice-president, Mrs. Mike Connolly; second Bride-elect receive gifts Sharon Lavery bride-elect of May 9, was honored at a miscellaneous shower held at the Legion Hall Friday evening which was attended by relatives, neighbors and friends. The Hall was decorated in pale blue and yellow. Presentation of gifts were made to Sharon by Roxanne Lavery and Darlene Faber. The staff of Queensway Nursing Home where she is employed also presented her with a gift. A social evening was enjoyed under the arrangement of Mrs. Gordon Lavery and Mrs. Robert Lavery. Car wash nets profit for Hi C's The Hi-C Youth Fellowship of Hensall United Church had a car wash at Kyle's Shell Service Station from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Over sixty cars were washed outside and the interior cleaned at a cost of $1.50. Demonstrations, films, guest speakers, a skit, a mad hatters party and a debate were highlights. The members enjoyed a picnic, a family night, a fun night and a bus trip. Donations included Huron County Bursary, Anniversary Fund, fire victims, Bunny Bundle, Cystic Fibrosis, Children's Aid, Canadian Institute for the Blind and Children's Hospital in London. The Institute also sponsors the 4-H Club. Plans were made for the District Annual to be held in the Presbyterian Church, Hensall, May 21 and members voted to continue with practice of having secret pals. Brownies enroll, receive gold bars Eleven Brownies were enrolled by Brown Owl, Mrs. Robt Cook, in the traditional ceremony April 14. Kim Brown, Jeannette Charette, Nancy Deitz, Roxanne Lavery, Connie Koehler, Cathy Koehler, Barbara Ingram, Debbie Reid, Sandra Nixon, Beverley Tait and Karen Shiels made their promise by toadstool while their mothers watched. The first prize went to Betty Simmons who skipped the team of Helen Anderson, Marg Consitt and Marg Knight. Surprise party for Hensall lady Complimenting Mrs. Bertie McMurtrie on her ninetieth birthday her nieces and nephews surprised her at her home and presented her with a birthday cake, flowers and other gifts. Albert Alexiinder have returned from a pleasant two month's vacation in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mrs, Pearl Shaddick and.Mrs, Annie Cole have returned from four and a half month's holiday at Lakeland, Florida. Mrs. Fearl Shaddick and Mrs. Annie Cole returned to their homes last week after spending the winter months at Lakeland, Florida. Mrs. Wilbert Dining is a patient in South Huron Hospital. The members decided to have a bake and plant sale at the May meeting. Report on the bus trip to Toronto was given by Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Tom Briutnell. The study was given by Mrs. Clarence Coleman on "Indian Problems" and the hostesses were Mrs. R. Taylor Jr. and Mrs. Ed. Dick. Sunday, Mrs. Rimell Brock presented Mrs. Ben Stoneman with a Life Membership and Mrs. Harris presented her with a pin. Church honors Children's Aid ' Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church, Sunday and spoke on the subject For Such is the Kingdom, in honor of Children's Aid Week. The choir under the direction of Mrs. Malcolm Dougali at the organ sang "My Task." Rev. Wallace MacKinnon will be the guest speaker for the anniversary service, May 3.
