New members for church
received at Thames Road
The Crediton Tigers off to a
slow start in the early going in
the Western Ontario Athletic
Association Intermediate "C"
ranks caught fire over the
holidays and have moved into
fourth place in the southern
division.
Over the past week, the Tigers
came up with three successive
wins to give them six victories
and a tie in fifteen starts good
for thirteen points.
In their only away game of
the week the Tigers outscored
Listowel Vets 10-5. On home ice
at Huron Park, they edged the
Milverton Four-Wheel Drives 9-8
Friday and scored a decisive 9-3
win over Arthur, Sunday
afternoon.
The Crediton club was in
Elora last night, Wednesday,
travel to Port Elgin Friday night
and will be back on Huron Park
ice, Sunday night at 8.30 to take
on the Clinton Colts.
Clinton and Milverton are tied
for second place in the league
standings with 17 points apiece
while the Seaforth Beavers head
the league with 27 points.
LATE SPURT
The Crediton club waited
until the third period Sunday
afternoon before turning on
their scoring power and downing
Arthur by a score of 9-3.
Five Crediton goals with only
one reply from the visitors in the
final twenty minutes of play
preserved the victory.
Crediton led 3-2 after the first
period on two goals from the
stick of Terry Bourne and a
singleton fired by Dennis
Morrissey. Jack Richardson and
Bob McCulloch were the Arthur
goal getters.
Paul Young scored for the
Tigers to take care of the only
goal getting in the middle frame.
Dennis Morrissey fired two
successful shots in the final
period to up his game total to a
hat trick and singles were added
by Grant Walker, Gary Parsons
and Bob Gruber.
PULL OUT WIN
Defenceman Bob Buchanan
scored at 19.36 of the third
period at Huron Park Friday
night to give the Crediton club a
9-8 decision over the Milverton
Four-Wheel Drives.
Crediton opened up a 4-2 lead
, after the first period of play
only to have Milverton rattle in
four unanswered goals in the
middle stanza and go in front by

Completing the scoring total
with goals in single fashion were

New Years Day the Webb
Family Reunion was held in the
Crediton Community Hall.
Eighty members were present
from Detroit, Port Huron,
Sarnia, Parkhill, Thedford,
London, Dashwood, Zurich and
Grand end.
Ivan Sharrow, Dashwood,
president for 1969, was
chairman for the program.
Officers were appointed for
1970.
The reunion, an annual affair,
has been held or approximately
forty years.
FLORIDA VACATION
Ted and Clair Skinner spent a
week of their Christmas vacation
in Florida. They motored there,
sharing the driving, and spent
their time at Miami and
Holmstead. Certain articles of
food, milk and eggs for instance,
they found expensive; but they
considered the delicious citrus
fruits available a compensation.
In Miami there were crowds of
young people, all bent on

In the first novice game,
Saturday, Boston defeated St.
Louis 5-1. This was a very good
game until the halfway mark
when Boston broke the 1-1 tie
and scored four goals in fifteen
minutes.
Boston scorers were Brad
Taylor who scored four and
Fred Robinson got the other
Boston goal. The St. Louis goal
was scored by Randy Parsons.
Fred Robinson will be moved to
St. Louis this week in an
attempt to even the teams.
In the second game, Montreal
was defeated 4-2 by the North
Stars. For the North Stars Perry
Pooley scored two, while Eugene
Clark and Paul Van Gerwen got
singles. Montreal goals were
scored by Paul Pooley and Gary
Saleski.
In squirt hockey, Dave
Robinson scored a hat trick,
Tony. Mattucci got two while
Wayne Parsons, Paul Gaiser,
Steven Horne and Doug Fletcher
scored singles.
In the first pee wee game the
Seals scored three times in the
first five minutes to give them a
5-4 win over Detroit.
Seal goals were scored by Ken
Pinder with three with Brian
Penhale and Ian Doidge scoring
singles. For Detroit John Van
Gerwen scored twice while
Steven Willert and Terry
McDonald tallied singles.
The Panthers defeated the
Blues 2-1 in an exciting game.
Wally Fydenchuk and Howard
Schenk scored the Panther goals.
The Blues goal was fired by
Matthew Muller.
There are two changes in pee
wee houseleague with Steven
Pfaff and Larry Johns going to
the Blues.
In bantam houseleague the
Slow Motions defeated the
Punchers 8-7. The Slow Motions'
goals were scored by Brian
Taylor who scored four times,
Gordon Wach, who got three
and Doug Fairbairn scored a
single.
The Punchers' goals were
scored by Perry Stover who
scored five while Rick Stagg and
Brian Tuckey tallied up singles.
