Tour planned tonight
for senior citizens
London Citadel Band played
Christmas, carols in each
institution and visited Mrs,
Maude Redden and played
several carols for her, In the
party were Mrs. Brig. Rawlins of
London; and Mrs. Eric Luther
and Mrs. Pearl Erratt of Hensall,
the latter two helping to
distribute the sunshine bags.
Miss Anne Hayter of Varna
was successful in passing the
grade eight piano examination of
the Western Ontario
Conservatory of music with
honours. Anne also passed the
grade theory examination with
honours at the midsummer
session. She is a pupil of Miss
Greta Lammie, Hensall.
Mr. & Mrs. Bryan Underwood
of Gorrie were weekend guests
with Mrs. John henderson and
family,
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chaffe and
sons of Mitchell visited this week
with Mrs. Chaffe's parents Mr. &
Mrs. Jack Corbett and Al.
Mr. William Otterbein is a
patient in Westminster Hospital,
London.
Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted
Holy Communion in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
The choir under the director of
Mrs. Malcolm Dougall sang the
anthem "My Christmas Prayer."
The service next Sunday will be
in charge of the Sunday School,
who will present a pageant "God
Created Christmas'. It will be
White Gift Sunday.
Mrs. Bruce Walker who has
been a patient in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter returned to her
home last week.
The Kinsmen Club of Hensall
are planning their third Annual
Senior Citizen Night at the
Hensall Public School on
Thursday, December 18. A bus
will leave from the school at 7
p.m. for a tour of Christmas
lights with a small programme of
local entertainment and lunch to
4 follow.
Mrs. George Armstrong is a
patient in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, with injuries she suffered
in a fall at her home,
Mrs. Fred Beer slipped and
fell on the ice Wednesday. She ▪ was taken to South Huron
Hospital by ambulance.
Santa arrived in the local fire
truck at the Arena Saturday
afternoon where he welcomed
the children of Hensall and
district, at the annual Christmas
4 party sponsored by the local
businessmen.
Members of the Hensall Fire
Brigade handed out five hundred
bags of treats and chocolate milk
compliments of Hurondale
Dairy. The children also enjoyed
free movies with Jim Hyde in
• charge of the projector.
The businessmen also sponsor
free skating Saturday afternoons
during December and January.
The Salvation Army League
of Mercy delivered 166 sunshine
bags to patients at South Huron
Hospital, Exeter;l3raemorManor,
• Davis Nursing Home, all of
Exeter; Blue Water Rest Home,
Zurich; Queensway Nursing
Home, Zurich; Hensall, and
shut-ins in the area.
