HILLBILLIES JOIN PARADE - The South Huron Junior Farmers had one of the comic floats in the
Exeter fair parade. Some of the youths are shown here as they line up for the start. It's not known if the
shack was a small version of a home used by the hill people, or whether it was one of the more common
out buildings made more pleasant with the installation of a heating unit. T-A photo
BEST DECORATED CAR - The Clandeboye Hillbillies, favorites in the area in centennial year, came
out of "retirement" for the Exeter fair parade and captured first prize for the best decorated car.
Clarence Carter is behind the wheel, with his wife and Marg Snelgrove, Exeter, riding in the back. Riding
up front is Jerry Gill, London. Bill Morley, who helped parade marshall Bob Fletcher line up the floats is
shown examining the relic transporting the hillbillies. T-A photo
